Commenced awkwardly. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the gelding, the rider advised that BASHOSH (IRE) lost its action from the 600 metres and did not travel well for the remainder of the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from cardiac arrythmia. Trainer M Costa was notified that prior to the gelding entering to race again it must perform a satisfactory gallop in the presence of an ERA veterinary officer and lodge a veterinary report stating that the horse BASHOSH (IRE) is displaying a normal ECG after the gallop. The official gallop may only be performed fourteen (14) days after the event. |
