A LOOK AT THE CAREER OF SUPERCARS LEGEND JAMIE WHINCUP

* Whincup's record seven Supercars championships places him above Ian Geoghegan, Dick Johnson and Mark Skaife, who all won five titles

* He still has a season to add to his record 122 race wins, which is already 12 more than the next best driver, Craig Lowndes

* Although he's a four-time Bathurst 1000 winner, Whincup's had a testing relationship with Mt Panorama. He hasn't won the race since 2012 and has endured numerous heartbreaking results since

* One of only two drivers to have a championship in both a Ford and a Holden. His first two titles (2008, 2009) came driving a Ford before Triple Eight switched to Holden in 2010

* In 2009, Whincup helped changed the perception of motorsport drivers as athletes, finishing third out of eight contestants on reality TV show, Australia's Greatest Athlete, only just losing out to NRL champion Billy Slater and AFL speedster Brett Deledio.
