Barring the Neil Goldbolt trained Bay Of Bengal, all runners on Saturday trialled on September 23rd at Randwick.

Of the 11 trials held, five were held over 852m while the rest where held over 847m.

To standardise these trials (as if they were run over the same distance), I divided the race time by the distance and then multiplied that by 850.

To then work out the individual runner time, I extrapolated the beaten margin by dividing it by 5.71L (a bit shy of 6L = one second) and adding it to the official time.

Below were the results:

After that you can add your own value judgements, personally my lean in the Gimcrack would be to Stellar Pauline . Really liked the way she found the line and she has the right profile (sister to Secret Agenda ), key stable, gun draw, gun jockey.

In the Breeders' my lean would be to Beyliks , the first foal to race from the mare Ottoman , he looks to have plenty of ability, just needs his fair share of luck. If he had drawn a gate, confident he would be well inside 2-1.
