Rich Pinjarra Wins For Magic Millions Pair

Monday, 11 February 2019: Unbeaten pair Jericho Missile and Samizdat emerged as the new stars of WA racing after they swept the two feature Magic Millions races at Pinjarra on Saturday.

The untapped youngsters recorded black type victories at just their second career starts, Jericho Missile giving his trainer David Harrison his third win in the Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic and Samizdat recording an incredible win in the Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy for trainer Chris Gangemi.
JERICHO MISSILE (Smart Missile x Onecatstoomany by One Cooll Cat) became the ninth stakes winner for his NSW-based sire Smart Missile with his Listed win in the MM WA 2YO Classic over Niccovi (Nicconi) and Miss West Coast (Safeguard).
"He's pretty special," Harrison said of the gelded youngster who won his only previous outing at Ascot in the Crystal Slipper Stakes on December 1.
Bred by David Bentata, Jericho Missile  was originally sold to Peter McIntyre for $22,000 at the 2017 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale through the draft of Holbrook Thoroughbreds.
The youngster was then prepared by Maluka Thoroughbreds for the 2018 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale where he was purchased by Harrison for $77,500.
He now races for a big team of owners including WA Hall of Fame greyhound trainer Linda Britton.
Holbrook Thoroughbreds is offering a Press Statement half-brother Jericho Missile at the current Classic Yearling Sale in Sydney.
SAMIZDAT (Not A Single Doubt x Sambar by More Than Ready) has a big future according to his trainer Chris Gangemi.
The 3YO has already made headlines as he a half-brother to WA Champion Fillies Stakes winner Samovare and made the top price of $325,000 when he was bought by Gangemi at the 2017 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale.
Saturday’s win was his first outing since he impressed at his racetrack debut when winning at Belmont as a late 2YO last season before shin soreness ruled him out of the spring.
Samizdat  was bred and sold by Amelia Park Racing and Breeding with Peter Walsh, who retained a share in the youngster when he was sold.
Scenic Lodge who will present a Snippetson half brother to Samizdat and Samovare at the upcoming 2019 Perth Yearling Sale on February 18 and 19.
Samizdat is the 62nd winner for his sire Not A SIngle Doubt and added to another successful day for the Arrowfield Stud stallion.
In Sydney his classy daughters Champagne Cuddles  (Not A Single Doubt x Sky Cuddle by Al Hareb) and Samadoubt  (Not A Single Doubt x Isadora by Gold Fever) landed a notable double for their trainer Bjorn Baker.

Champagne Cuddles broke through the $1 million prizemoney mark with her win in the G2 Breeders' Classic for her fourth win in 15 starts while Samadoubt l;ed al the way for a tough win in the Bowness Stud Mile.
It was a welcome success for Champagne Cuddles after she had been placed 10 times including four G1 placings. Her only previous stakes win was in last year's G3 Gold Coast Guineas.
Champagne Cuddles was passed in after failing to make her reserve of $200,000 when offered by Turangga Farm at the 2016 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.
She is raced on lease by Champagne Ladies syndicate which includes members of Turangga Farm’s Ramsey family.
The fifth horse Baker has trained to win more than $1 million prizemoney, Champagne Cuddles is the second last foal and third winner from three to race produced by the G1 winner Sky Cuddle.
Her other foals include the city winner Skytrek and unraced 3YO brother to Champagne Cuddles.
Sky Cuddle's first foal Shantha's Girl (Redoute's Choice) produced the stakes-winner Violate (Sebring).
Samadoubt has now won seven of his 31 starts and over $370,000 since he was purchased by Darby Racing for $40,000 at the Sydney Classic Sale.
