More 2YO Success For I Am Invincible

Friday, 9 November 2018: The famous Niarchos family silks were successful at Flemington on Oaks day when I Am Invincible filly Vinicuna blazed down the straight course to win the G3 Maribyrnong Plate.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Vinicunca  was a $600,000 Australian Easter Yearling Sale buy for Niarchos’ Flaxman Ireland stable, Coolmore’s Tom Magnier and BBA Ireland from the Attunga Stud draft.
She is third stakes-winning 2YO this season for I Am Invincible joining Catch Me  (Gimcrack Stakes) and Espaaniyah (Inglis Banner).
Coolmore also share in the ownership of runner-up Art Collection  (Fastnet Rock) a half-sister to the former champion sprinter Lankan Rupee (Redoute’s Choice).
Vinicunca (I Am Invincible x Xandretta by Flying Spur) boasts a rich pedigree.
She is one of two winners for the winning mare Xandretta who is a half-sister to the G1 Champagne Stakes winner Carry On Cutie (More Than Ready) and the stakes-placed Legislature (More Than Ready).
Carry On Cutie’s daughter My Amelia (Redoute’s Choice) is the dam of co-champion 2YO colt The Mission (Choisir), a Group 1-winning juvenile who is standing his first season at Aquis Farm in Queensland.
Xandretta produced a filly foal by Golden Slipper winner Capitalist in September.

Vinicunca is the 38th individual stakes winner by I Am Invincible had his service fee increased to $192,500 this year.
Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott have their 2YO team in top form in Melbourne this spring with Espaaniyah  (I Am Invincible) winning the $500,000 Inglis Banner at Moonee Valley on October 27 and Unite And Conquer  (Hinchinbrook) successful in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes at Flemington on October 8.
The Danny O’Brien-trained Vow And Declare became the ninth winner for former shuttle sire Declaration Of War when he won the Listed TCL TV Stakes at Flemington on Oaks Day.
Declaration Of War, a son of War Front, stood in Australia for two seasons in 2014 and 2015.
Vow And Declare  (Declaration Of War x Geblitzt by Testa Rossa) was the second emergency for last Saturday's Victoria Derby at Flemington but failed to gain a start.
O'Brien confirmed Vow And Declare would be spelled and set for the Derby races in the autumn.
Vow And Declare is a graduate of the Classic Yearling Sale, where he was offered by Kitchwin Hills.
Fastnet Rock filly Bleu Roche scored her second career win at just her fourth start when successful in the G3 World Horse Racing Roses Stakes on Oaks Day at Flemington.
She was a $230,000 buy for her trainer Matt Laurie at the 2017 Classic Yearling Sale, where she was offered by Newgate Farm.
Bred by Donna Love Bleu Roche  (Fastnet Rock x Esprit De Bleu by Littleexpectations) has now won prize money of $149,750.
She is the second winner for her US-bred dam Esprit De Bleu, a Listed winner who is a half-sister to stakes winner Rockin The Bleu’s (Rockport Harbor) and the stakesplaced Bleu Moon Magic (Zanjero).
Bleu Roche is the 142nd stakes winner by Fastnet Rock.
