Curtis Luck has all but assured himself a maiden card on the PGA Tour for next season with only a series of unlikely statistical possibilities at this week's Web.com Tour finale could curtail his dream.

Despite missing out on guaranteeing promotion to the main tour after the third finals event in Idaho, where Luck tied for 24th at 10-under, the Perth native has left himself little work to do at the Web.com Tour Championship.

South Korean Sangmoon Bae (19 under) capped his comeback from two years of mandatory military service with a win at the Boise Open, while Aaron Baddeley was the leading Australian eight shots back in a share of 17th.

The 22-year-old Luck has already earned $US41,587 in the finals series to sit 16th on the finals money list and only needs to remain in the top 25 through this week's finale at Atlantic Beach Country Club near Jacksonville, Florida.

In the five previous editions of the Web.com finals, 25th spot has earned between $32,206 and $40,625

For Luck to be pushed out of the top 25, 10 players ranked beneath him on the standings would all have to out-earn him by varying amounts up to $9,612.

But Luck cares little for the machinations of the money list, instead backing himself to hoist the trophy at the season's final tournament.

"Even if I knew what results would get it done, I feel I'm a good enough player to think about how I can win at Atlantic Beach," Luck told AAP from Idaho.

"Whenever it is I get a PGA Tour card, I'm confident I could hold on to it, so I'm not worried about gaining or losing status, that's not what I feel I have to learn.

"I need to learn how to handle the pressure of being in contention coming down a stretch on Sunday; that's far more imperative to my development as a tour player."

Among those already guaranteed US Tour cards are Australians Cameron Davis and Matt Jones, who have each jagged a top-three result in the finals.

Baddeley sits at 20th on the finals money list and will need a strong result in Florida to return to the PGA Tour.

Other Australian hopefuls facing a battle for promotion include Cameron Percy (44th on the money list), Rhein Gibson (57th), Brett Drewitt (64th), John Senden (tied 77th) and Stuart Appleby (tied 87th).
