Weanling Demand For I Am Invincible

Monday, 16 April 2018: A young colt by I Am Invincible made the top price of $255,000 on the opening day of the Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale.

Trading ended with an average price of $29,164 for 118 select weanlings sold.
Evergreen Stud Farm offered the day’s top two lots as agent for Hillside Thoroughbreds.
The top priced colt from Bang On went to New Zealand’s Lyndhurst Farm for $255,000, the second-highest price ever for an I Am Invincible weanling.
The second-top lot was a Hinchinbrook x Artful Whisper colt purchased by Maluka Thoroughbreds for $130,000.
Lyndhurst Farm’s Mark Treweek was thrilled to secure the day’s top Lot.
“He is by one of the best sires at the moment and we just loved him when we first saw him,’’ Treweek said.
“I think it has been a really nice market. Some have made good money but overall there has been a middle range and most people would be pretty happy.’’
The weanling colt sold a day after the exciting 2YO filly Pure Elation won the G2 Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick to provide I Am Invincible with his 31st stakes winner.
Pure Elation (I Am Invincible x Members Joy by Hussonet) beat another I Am Invincible filly Fiesta.
I Am Invincible was the second leading sire by aggregate at last week’s Australian Easter Yearling Sale with his 34 yearlings selling for $18,650,000.
