Fremantle last week sent Bennell to train at their WAFL-aligned club for at least eight weeks and fined him $15,000 over the incident.
The sanctions were affected after Bennell was involved in a scuffle at a Perth nightclub after drinking excessively on the day before a training session.
According to Fyfe, Bennell acted in a disappointing way for the club but the club stands 100% behind him in getting back his career together in the long term but for the moment the player will have to fight for his career alone.
The Dockers expect Bennell to seek counselling to address off-field issues which have long plagued the 25-year-old.
After moving from Gold Coast, Bennell has entered a three-year contract with Fremantle last season but persistent calf injuries have hampered him playing only two AFL games for the Dockers last year.
Previously Bennell was involved in a string of alcohol related incidents at the Suns and was traded after he was involved in a drunken altercation in September 2015 on the Gold Coast.
