RACE 1

Another very tricky Class 5 contest. METAPHOR (8) is a horse who should have won races in the past if not for some waywardness. Frontrunner who should race handy. The fact he has been over 1400m at his last two starts should add some stamina. Very positive booking and rates a strong chance. FLYING SHADOW (1) is the best horse in the race but has to lump 59kgs. His record is very strong at this level and he must be respected. The extra distance will suit. ALWAYS A WINNER (7) has returned from a long break with two respectable efforts. He is fitter now and will have the feather weight of 49.5kgs for gun Hong Kong apprentice Matthew Poon. SUCCESS COME TRUE (3) has been a shade disappointing but is in an easier contest here. With a little extra ground he is likely to improve and should be value with Craig Grylls to ride.

RACE 2

Only a small field with MOKASTAR (1) very hard to beat. Drew a poor barrier in the Aushorse Golden Horsehoe (G2) and still ran well enough under the circumstances. He has recent form around leading youngsters Ferocious and Mr Hanks. Looks set to break through for his maiden victory. SHAMROCK (6) is a newcomer who has impressed with a winning trial in July and another nice trial on Tuesday with Blinker/Pacifiers. Looks more than handy. FILIBUSTER (8) trialled well enough finishing second in 61.30. Led that trial and may look to race handy here. Blinkers on and Michael Rodd in the saddle are positive pointers. ANTHEIA (7) is only small and trainer Ricardo Le Grange has gone for the 3kg claim with T Krisna riding. The filly looks tested but seems to have trialled nicely winning by almost 4L.

RACE 3

A somewhat open look to the third on the card. SUPER TYCOON (6) is fancied to land the prize on the back of a respectable third on his Polytrack debut last start. Class dropper CHASE (1) is unbeaten in Class 4 company and should go well even with top weight. WONDERFUL ERA(3) has gone up 24 rating points since his first win this year but continues to hold good form with a second last start and Alan Munro is back on board. The Glen Boss-ridden LUCKY JUSTICE (5) can make up the first four here.

RACE 4

Leading trainer Mark Walker is represented by DISCRETELY RED (2), who flew home on his local debut in a closing sectional of 22.61 to finish third in a blanket finish, He steps up in trip here and can go two places better this time. ABLE PINS (6) is a very interesting newcomer having trialled well 10 days ago and is a full brother to three-time winner River Of Gold. BRING ME JOY (1) fared much better in blinkers last time out and has the services of useful apprentice Matthew Poon. The Showcasing SHOQEET (9) can improve on his debut to take a place here.

RACE 5

All the usual suspects turning up for this party. SUN FORCE (3) is still yet to win here in Singapore but is a tentative selection for the victory here on the back of staying on for third last time out. ALFONSO (4) hasn't encountered the Polytrack all that often, but has been placed on the surface and ran a good second last month on his recent start. POWERFUL AS WIND (7) is reunited with Nooresh Juglall, who is the only jockey to have won on him and returns to Polytrack which will suit, and the top four can be made up by SUGARTIME JAZZ (2) who fought bravely last start to finish second, but has more weight here.

RACE 6

A competitive-looking open maiden on paper. The Garden City Trophy winning combination of Shane Baertschiger and Matthew Poon team up here with the in-form ON ELECTRIC AVENUE(1), who finished off in 23.66 behind Special King last time to claim second and he was himself a good few lengths clear of the third that day and he gets the vote to score here. FIRST LIGHT (6) made a very pleasing debut albeit trapped wide throughout and he now wears blinkers for this his second start, and can improve. Although a beaten favourite twice, ENHANCEMENT (10) should be right there at the business end of the contest. BEIJING STAR (3) has a notable jockey change in the shape of Michael Rodd and should be finishing off strongly like at his last start over slightly shorter.

RACE 7

A race where you can again nail the winner down to two or three potentials. CAIRO (1) has joined the stable of Tan Hor Khoon and trialled nicely last week to win in 59.83, the winner of two from 10 and four minor placings, he just maybe looking for 1200m but it will pay to keep an eye on him. KRATOS (2) is another resuming, he basically had a solo trial last week when his gate sprang open and from his six runs all over 1000m, he has only been unplaced once. MY HORSE (4) a prior winner in Class 4 over 1000m is always well fancied and should be respected. HALO BRIGHT (6) off the back of a couple of trials should be a top four chance with his win over 1000m coming over Kratos.

RACE 8

A rather trappy little contest over the two turns. Top weight KEEPITUP (1) just gets the nod here ahead of his rivals, He returns to Polytrack and is back up in trip which should suit, SMART VINTAGE (5) is fancied to give him most to think about with Michael Rodd (6:2-1-2) back in the saddle. Best of the rest could well be NORTHERN KNIGHT (4), who boxed on fairly in first time blinker-pacifiers recently and the lightly-weighted DREAMER LEGEND (9) ran a solid race last start over an inadequate distance and will have the services of Matthew Poon once again.

RACE 9

An intriguing race with three last-tart winners in the line-up here. SPLINTER (7), who was very impressive last time out when beating Bao Shan Magic by 3.5L can continue on an upward curve for Bruce Marsh stepping back up to 1200m. MR LUCK (1) was able to score for the first time at 1200m last month beating a handy field of Class 3 gallopers in the process. Another of the last-start winners is LIM’S SHOT (6), who in blinkers first time now remains unbeaten over the course and distance and could be the main pace influence here. The lightly-raced DINGHU MOUNTAIN (3) has trialled well in blinkers recently and will wear the headgear for the first time and is respected.

RACE 10

Very competitive race to round out the weekends racing. THE COSMOS (1) returned as a smart winner fresh up last start carrying 53.5kgs, and will carry 55kgs with Zawari Razali’s claim this time. GREY FALCON (2) will always give you a great sight for a long way, beaten favourite last start by a short margin, ½ kg less here, ran into BLACK MAMBA (4) last start – who won very nicely for new trainer Leticia Dragon, may pay to keep an eye on this horse. LIM’S RACER (5), G2 2YO winner from last season steps out for the first time without a trial since February with Matthew Poon in the saddle.
