Chopin’s Fantaisie.
Chopin’s Fantaisie.

RACE 1

Even race to get started. Silver Power (1) came close at his last run. Lumps big weight this time but he can still come through here.Double Cash (6) is on the quick back-up after his creditable fourth to Arion last Friday. Jumps from barrier No 1. Will probably launch into the straight. Kubera’s Chief (4) reverts to Polytrack. Speedy sort who may get a genuine chance if he rolls forward and gets a soft run in front. Rikioh (5) was beaten by the draw last time out. No better luck this time. Might run a place with some luck.

RACE 2

All points to On Electric Avenue’s (1) maiden win here. Handles Polytrack better. Can overcome wide barrier as he drops back. Leading chance. Super Denman (9) has won two barrier trials and seems to be fit and ready enough for a forward run on debut. Keep safe. The Golden Goat (2) did not enjoy a troublefree run at his last outing when well-backed. Spelled for four months. Needs to be relooked at. Place claims. Thoth Warrior (10) was up on the pace at his first start but he faded in the straight. Will be able to box-seat from barrier No 2 this time. Tongue-tie off, crossover noseband on. Improvement expected.

RACE 3

Blinkers come on Miss Streisand (8). Last run was full of merit. Include in calculations. Cavatina (1) made some ground at his last outing. Not a model of consistency but on best form, he can measure up here. Starperfect (5) warmed up to the task when it was all over last time out. Looks safely held here, but if he can get over his wide gate and he gets the right breaks, he can surprise here.Heavenly Hand (11) is not the worst here. Does have a bit of a turn of foot but has yet to open her account. Nice gate. Can make the board.

RACE 4

Super Joe (4) is in great form. Ran on for a close second to Mighty Emperor last time out. Then won a barrier trial last Thursday. Wide barrier no big deal as he comes from behind. Big say. Holy Grail (7) sprang a mini upset by scoring his maiden win at his 11th outing. The 1800m journey will suit him even more. Leading hope especially from marble one. O’Reilly Bay (8) did not score after his surprise win two starts back but he did make some ground late. Watch him closely. Duke Of Normandy (3) tried to make all last time out. Dangerous if he is left alone in front.

RACE 5

New trainer Saimee Jumaat holds an excellent chance of saddling his first winner in Danzeb (1). Has been running on in his races. Good gate and mile will suit down to a tee. Pacifiers off. Top pick. Next best seems to be Qingdao (2). Plugged on for second place at his last race. Okay on both Polytrack and turf. There is a race for him soon. Prince Darci (8) is making good headway. Three-kilo claimer on. Each-way chance. Lim’s Sparkle (7) has come close a couple of times. Going over the mile for the first time. Drawn off the track but gives every indication he will see it out.

RACE 6

There was plenty to like about the way Tembusu Estrela (1) flew home for fourth to Parker last time out. Just needs a bit of luck to get off the mark. Good Lucky (2) tried hard at his last run but was just touched out by Greatballs Of Fire. Working well and is worth following. Metaphor (8) had every chance at his last run. Just could not put it away in the straight. Decent claims. Peregrine Falcon (6) was too far back at his last outing. Chance if he is closer to the speed. Blinkers off.

RACE 7

Stick with Kashan (4). Runs on in his races but always finds one or two better. Will appreciate extra 100m. Mr Connery (1) came too late at his last start. Best when ridden off the pace. In the hunt for a long way. This is a major rise in distance for Perkins (6). Did not finish far off the winner Greatballs Of Fire last time out. Place claims. Dragon G (2) left the ruck late last time out but was never a threat to the winner Lady Liberty. Tipped out since. Can go well fresh.

RACE 8

Best weekend act Chopin’s Fantaisie (1) will be hard to beat. Improving with each run. Looks without opposition here. Great draw.Aotearoa (12) was very impressive at his last-start win. Filly on the up and won’t be out of her depth here. Supernova (3) flew home for second at his last outing. Holding form and if he brings that here, he should be able to win the battle for the minors. Life Is Gamble (10) scored an all-the-way win at his last start. Seems to be looking for more distance. Low draw. This is harder but he can still vie for a place.

RACE 9

Backing Super Tycoon (6) to score again. Impressive win suggests new trainer may have unlocked the key to him. Jumps from barrier No 1. The one to catch. Magic City (3) is on the quick back-up after his Sunday second to Lim’s Reform. Won’t surprise if he takes a hand here. Situation (10) did very well at his debut. Should be more at home over turf. Top pick. Japanese-bred Fuego (1) did not do too badly at his first two runs. Faces stiff task and can hope for a place chance. Blinkers on.

RACE 10

Could not fault My Horse (4) at his last run. He hit the front strongly but found one better. Gets another chance here. Reunites with maiden winning partner Olivier Placais. Best draw. Must be rated among the main chances. Royal Guard (9) flew home late for second last time out. This is right up his alley. Can get into a nice posie from barrier No 3. Keep an eye on him. River Of Gold (1) ran on for a meritorious third at his last start. Jumps from innermost alley. Will relish extra 100m. Barnato (2) is a bit of an in-and-out performer. Was not caught at his last start. Unlikely he will get the same soft lead this time. Place claims look better.
