Jordan Membrey, of Collingwood, and Western Bulldogs' Deanna Berry are the latest AFLW players to suffer a major knee injury, with both set to miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery.

The 25-year-old Membrey went down in the third quarter of the ladder-leading Magpies' thumping 35-point victory over Melbourne on Sunday.

Scans on Monday revealed she has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her left knee.

"The whole program is heartbroken for Jordy," Collingwood women's sport boss Jane Woodlands-Thompson said.

"In true Jordy nature, she remains in good spirits and is determined to contribute to the campaign in another capacity."

The Western Bulldogs are resigned to losing Berry for the rest of the season, confirming on Monday night the 22-year-old has suffered an ACL injury in her right knee and will undergo surgery this week.

She was taken off the field in the final quarter against Greater Western Sydney on Saturday, taking some of the shine off the Bulldogs' impressive 25-point win.

"The entire AFLW program is devastated for Dee, it's definitely the news no-one wanted to hear," Bulldogs' general manager of women's football Debbie Lee said.

"Dee has worked tremendously hard this season, particularly in the off-season, so it is very disappointing that she has suffered an ACL injury.

"We will continue to support Dee and her family in every way we can as she begins her rehab and recovery."

After a relatively quiet season on the injury front throughout the league, the losses of Membrey and Berry add to that of Geelong star Olivia Purcell who also ruptured her ACL in round five.

The Cats young gun suffered the major setback in the second quarter against Richmond on Friday night.
