Ashleigh Gardner will enter next month's Twenty20 World Cup in cracking form, having posted her maiden one-day hundred to deliver NSW a 24-run win over Queensland in Canberra.

Gardner blasted seven sixes and 13 fours in Wednesday's knock of 136, which came off 108 balls and lifted the Breakers to a total of 248.

Stars Rachael Haynes (18) and Alyssa Healy (nine) opened for NSW at Manuka Oval but were both back in the pavilion after 12 overs.

Offspinning allrounder Gardner then snared 3-37 from 10 overs, dismissing Georgia Redmayne, Grace Harris and Mikayla Hinkley to help roll Queensland for 224 in 47.3 overs.

NSW's one-day campaign continues at the same venue on Thursday, when they face the ACT Meteors.

Gardner's attention will soon shift to Australia's T20 World Cup defence, which starts on February 21 against India in Sydney.

Haynes, Healy and Gardner will first link up with the national T20 squad for a tri-series involving India and England, which runs from January 31 until February 12.
