Kranji.
Kranji.

RACE 1

1st Pick : ELITE BEAST (2) - A lot is taken on trust to expect this fellow to run two races alike. The effort last time out was very good and if (a big if!?) able to replicate that, he is a good chance of winning this.
2nd Pick: BEAT THE LIGHT (1) - Hasn't been seen for a while but has some handy maiden form, which could prove good enough to win this. He has had a couple of trials to get him cherry ripe for this return to action. Interesting.
3rd Pick: GOLDEN THUNDER (3) - Run on well over the course and distance on latest start and he is 'Dyed in the wool' class 5 galloper nowadays, you'll get what it says on the tin. Solid run expected.
4th Pick: MASTER SOMMELIER (9) - An interesting runner in a race like this and is worth keeping an eye on. Market watch.

RACE 2

1st Pick : IRONCLAD (1) - Excellent second behind the smart Sacred Gift on local debut. The extra trip is a massive plus and looks good enough to land this prize. One to beat.
2nd Pick: HWASONG (6) - Will have taken benefit for his debut and has won a trial since that run in a time of 63.08. This race doesn't run overly deep and he can take a step forward here.
3rd Pick: CAVALLA COURT (3) - Fourth in the same race as stablemate Hwasong and continues to improve with racing. Can progress again.
4th Pick: LIM'S UNIQUE (13) - Has run two nice races to date on both surfaces and a good trial would have put him right for this. Must be included.

RACE 3

1st Pick : PLUCKY LAD (6) - Was running home nicely on his most recent start over this course and distance, and that may just be good enough to take this prize.
2nd Pick: HELLO MICHELLE (3) - Now 18 points lower than her last success (June 17) and a run to a fraction of her old form will be more than adequate to see her finish in the frame.
3rd Pick: TURF BEAUTY (2) - Won a trial recently and has form under these conditions. Player.
4th Pick: MY WIN (7) - Good in defeat on latest outing but is a better horse over shorter trips, so a place line is the best he might manage over the 1200m.

RACE 4

1st Pick : MIDDLE KINGDOM (5) - A 2000m winner in the UK at Newmarket's Rowley Mile course in April 17 (beating a subsequent G3 winner, Euginio) and shaped well last time over 1800m behind Buddy Buddy. Has trialled well and this race looks ideal. Strong chance.
2nd Pick: MIGHTY KENNY (1) - Has raced at a better level than one or two of these and showed he retains plenty of ability with a good second last time out and if he is able to reproduce that effort, he can be right there at the business end.
3rd Pick: BILLY BRITAIN (4) - Age hasn't yet caught up with old Billy, having run a great race last time in defeat. He stays further than this and you can be sure he will keep galloping all the way to the post.
4th Pick: SHANGANI (6) - In good form at a lower level and has trialled well ahead of this start. One to include in a small field like this.

RACE 5

1st Pick : KING'S LANDING (2) - Produced a decent display when third to The Wild Bunch on New Year's Day in Restricted Maiden company and on the back of that, he can go close to winning this, as it won't take much.
2nd Pick: GANGNAM CLASSIC (7) - Form figures read better than most and can be included in all the multiples here.
3rd Pick: TAVITO (8) - A must for the quartet in a race of rather low quality like this is. Place prospect.
4th Pick: WASHINGTON (4) - Worth giving him an inclusion here. Lightly-raced and was slightly better last time out.

RACE 6

1st Pick : PAX ANIMI (8) - Looked a smart recruit when landing a Class 4 over this trip on local debut in November. Connections have bigger targets for him in due course, and he looks more than capable of winning at this level and beyond. Will stay further and is a horse to follow going forward and a nice ride for new boy Patrick Moloney to pick up.
2nd Pick: NO FUN NO GAIN (2) - Now two from two since having a break after last year's 3yo series. A classy type who continues to progress very nicely and these conditions suit him well. With plenty going for him, he can once again go extremely well here.
3rd Pick: CALCULATION (6) - Third behind the smart Altair on New Year's Day. Has something to prove on the grass, but if translating his Polytrack form to the turf, he has a sound chance.
4th Pick: BAFFERT (3) - Trackwork has looked good and on the best of his form, he is not without a hope in this decent little race.

RACE 7

1st Pick : ANGEL HALO (3) - Caught the eye running home well over the mile last time out and looks ready to win another one for the Hideyuki Takaoka barn.
2nd Pick: CODIGOS (2) - Up a further point for another second last time out, and although a maiden, he is in very good form and the dreaded 'tag' can be shed very shortly.
3rd Pick: LIFE IS GAMBLE (1) - Current form is not great, but this is his first venture into Class 5 racing and is dangerously well handicapped on his best. One to watch.
4th Pick: GOLD FAITH (5) - Only fair on latest start but has the right sort of form to go well in this.

RACE 8

1st Pick : MOONGATE STAR (5) - Was keen and had to race wide on January 4. He is still very lightly-raced and is worth another go in a race like this, which might not take a great deal of winning.
2nd Pick: LIM'S KNIGHT (2) - Jumped slowly last time and gave away several lengths. Judged on the balance of his form (six-time winner), he can certainly go close here and is a point lower than his latest victory off a mark of 67.
3rd Pick: BEJEWELLED (3) - Placed off this mark over course and distance on the first day of the season and there is every possibility he can do the same again here.
4th Pick: CLASSIFIED (8) - Win number five had to be achieved in the basement grade but on the pick of his old form, he is still an attractively handicapped horse and might just have his confidence back now he has got his head back in front.
