GWS star Jeremy Cameron is in no rush to finalise his future beyond the end of the 2020 AFL season despite joining the Giants' leadership group.

There is speculation the 26-year-old reigning Coleman Medallist is being pursued by Victorian clubs but he says he's happy at the Giants and will be patient with negotiating an extension.

"Definitely no timeline. Some people get it done really quickly, some don't. Some take time like Cogs (Stephen Coniglio)," Cameron said on Thursday.

"There's definitely no timeline but things are ticking away nicely and I'm speaking to the right people and it's all looking positive."

New skipper Coniglio and fellow leadership group member Lachie Whitfield both signed seven-year deals to remain with the Giants in a huge show of faith for the future of the Sydney franchise.

Cameron said it was encouraging to see some of the game's biggest stars want to stay at the Giants, which was testament to the culture that had been built there over the course of his career.

The gun forward, who kicked 76 goals last season for the grand finalists, said he would have no problem concentrating on football while juggling contract negotiations if it meant he made the right decision.

"Every player is different and I guess some take time and some don't," he said.

"I don't think it will faze me too much. It's not a decision I want to run into and make straight away.

"It's something that you're entitled to take your time with and I'll be doing that.

"At the same time I want to make sure I can do my job out there on the track week in and week out and play the best footy I can. I'll definitely be juggling both."

Controversial forward and fellow foundation player Toby Greene was also added to the six-man leadership group, which already includes Josh Kelly and Matt de Boer.

Greene has been charged 18 times and fined a total of $26,350 under the AFL's match-review process but has long been considered a leader within the Giants.

'It just shows that everyone is right behind Toby," Cameron said.

"He's been doing this sort of stuff in the background and he's a leader in his own right anyway in previous years.

"I'm sure it's an easy step up for him and his football will go to a new level."
