A Grant will grace the field for the Western Bulldogs once again after the club officially welcomed Chris Grant's daughter Isabella at the AFLW draft.

Grant and Millie Brown, the daughter of Geelong's Paul, became the latest father-daughter draftees on Tuesday, following the lead of Abby McKay, the daughter of Carlton's Andy, who was the first player drafted under the rule last year.

The Dogs claimed Grant with the 47th overall pick and the Cats parted with pick No.11 to secure Brown at the draft meeting held at the Melbourne Showgrounds.

"For girls to be getting these opportunities is incredible and to have my daughter get this opportunity is just amazing," Chris said.

"I'm sure Paul Brown and Millie and their family are feeling the same.

"I think it's a really nice thing within our industry that we do give opportunities to male or female footballers to follow in their father's footsteps.

"It will be nice to see her in the Bulldogs colours but she's got a lot of work in front of her."

Grant played 341 games for the Dogs and is the club's football director.

Isabella, known for her skill and versatility with the Western Jets, was thrilled to follow her Dad's lead but admitted her Mum needed some convincing.

"I think she was a bit nervous about the injury side of it," Isabella said.

"But if I could show her that I could really strengthen myself up and I promised her that I'd be fine.

"I think she's still a bit nervous, but I think that's just a mum thing."
