Big Blue among A-League games rescheduled

Tuesday, 22 October 2019:

Sydney FC's A-League clash with Melbourne Victory has been pushed back a day in a move that could deliver both clubs access to some of their international players.

The game has been moved from a 5pm AEDT kick-off on Saturday 16 November, to 6.30pm the next day.

November 11-19 is a FIFA international window and this season, the A-League has scrapped international breaks - but clubs significantly affected by national team call-ups are able to apply to have games in those time periods rescheduled.

Sydney FC's Rhyan Grant and Andrew Redmayne are likely to be called up by the Socceroos for their clash with Jordan while Victory's Andrew Nabbout and Thomas Deng could be in contention.

With Australia's World Cup qualifier against Jordan to be held in Amman on the Tuesday night, those Socceroos could potentially return in time for a Sunday game.

Meanwhile Sydney's Kosta Barbarouses (New Zealand) and Victory's Kenny Athiu (South Sudan) are likely to be away with their respective national teams.

The change will deliver a double header, with Sydney FC and Victory's W-League sides playing at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium before the A-League fixture.

It also sees Central Coast's clash with Adelaide United at Central Coast moved from the Friday 7.30pm game to the Saturday 5pm time slot.

The Mariners also had their New Years Eve clash with Perth Glory brought forward half an hour to a 7pm kick-off.
