Alex de Minaur will join Ashleigh Barty in finalising his Australian Open preparations at the revamped Adelaide International.

Australia's top-ranked men's player has announced he will join a men's field alongside Canadian young gun Felix Auger-Aliassime from January 12-18.

De Minaur enjoyed a breakout 2020 season, winning three hardcourt titles in Sydney, Atlanta and Zhuhai as well as reaching the second week at a grand slam for the first time in New York.

"I am looking forward to playing at the Adelaide International in January," de Minaur said on Tuesday.

"2019 has been an exciting year so I am hoping to continue this form in the lead up to the 2020 Australian Open.

"I have heard a lot about the redevelopment happening at Memorial Drive. It is going to be really special to be a part of the first tournament held under the roof."

World No.1 Barty and Wimbledon champion Simona Halep have already confirmed they will headline the women's event in Adelaide as part of a new-look Australian summer of tennis program.
