Sunday, 11 August 2019: His time at stud in Australia is over for now but it seems former shuttle sire Dawn Approach could be ready to deliver results that were anticipated when he first arrived six years ago.

After five seasons at stud in Australia the triple G1 winning son of the Derby winner New Approach has remained in Ireland at Darley's Kildangan Stud this year.

He has sired 21 winners from 64 runners in Australia but as is so often the case when such decisions are made he is now on a roll with three winners in the first 10 days of the new Australian season including his second Australian stakes winner at Rosehill on Saturday.

The lightly-raced Dawn Passage  (Dawn Approach x Raja Lane by Devaraja) recorded his second win from just three starts when he stormed rto the line for a classy win in the Listed Rosebud  over 1100m, stirring his co-trainer Gai Waterhouse to name next month's $1 million G1 Golden Rose as his immediate target.

Purchased by Waterhouse and Adrian Bott with Blue Sky Bloodstock for $150,000 at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, Dawn Passage is one of seven stakes winners in total by Dawn Approach, a G1 Dewhurst Stakes and G1 2000 Guineas winner.

Dawn Passage's late dam Raja Lane was a G3 winner who died last 2018. She produced seven winners from seven foals to race, including the G3 winner Dinkum Diamond, dam of the classy stakes winner Graff.

He has left a 2YO by Rebel Raider.
