Friday, 9 August 2019: Shuttle sire Cable Bay is due to arrive at Victoria's Woodside Park Stud on August 31 in time to serve a full book of spring mares following the resolution of a dispute between his Southern Hemisphere and UK shareholders.

The stallion will depart the UK on August 15 after moves to block his departure for Australia were instigated last week by his UK partners.

Cable Bay has shuttled to Woodside Park for the past two years, covering 219 mares.

His Australian shareholders included Black Caviar's breeder Rick Jamieson of Gilgai Farm, B2B Thoroughbreds and Woodside Park.

"His 2019 book is full with many high class mares booked to him this season," said Woodside Park's commercial manager James Price.

"Australian breeders are acknowledging the ability of his juveniles in Europe so I am thrilled they have access to him this year.

"We do need to look after the horse when he is with us and respect the UK partners and them trying to get the best for the stallion."

"I was very open and honest with clients who had booked in with him. They have been willing to hold on to see if he's coming."

Cable Bay has sired 14 individual first crop winners in the northern hemisphere this year including Liberty Beach, winner of the G3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood.

The first Australian bred yearlings by the son of Invincible Spirit will be offered at sales in 2020.

* The 2017 Melbourne Cup winner Rekindling has been retired with a stud career in Europe under consideration for the son of High Chaparral.

His Australian part-owner Lloyd Williams stud options were being looked at for the 2020 northern hemisphere season.

Rekindling  raced only once after his Melbourne Cup win, finishing unplaced in this year's Australian Cup at Flemington.

Before coming to Australia he contested the Epsom Derby and won the G2 Curragh Cup in Ireland.

Trained in Ireland by Joseph O'Brien, Rekindling had only 11 starts for four wins and two placings, earning $4.1 million.

Teruya Yoshida's Shadai Farm has purchased the breeding rights to triple G1 winner Bricks And Mortar.

Bloodstock agent Eugenio Colombo said the son of Giant's Causeway will continue racing in the US this year and will retire to the Japanese stud farm after the G1 Breeders' Cup in November.

Bricks and Mortar is the fifth black type winner from his dam Beyond The Waves (Ocean Crest).
