Kooringal Stud reported the death of Magic Albert from suspected heart failure.

Magic Albert had been at stud for 17 seasons, leaving more than 600 individualk winers in 10 countries including 24 black type winners.

His progeny have earned more than $50 million and include the G1 winners Ilovethiscity, Albert The Fat, Magic Cape and Fighting Warrior.

The son of Zeditave was trained by Albert Stapleford to win seven of his 13 starts including the G2 Peter Pan Stakes and the G3 NJC Spring Stakes.

Magic Albert retired to Yarraman Park Stud at Scone in 2002. He was relocated to Kooringal Stud in the NSW southern districts in 2016.

Demerit, another well used stallion, was euthanased at Rangeview Stud in Western Australia after being found with a broken tibia in his paddock.

Bred and raced by Godolphin, Demerit was a well-performed Group 3 winner of the MRC Guineas Prelude at Caulfield defeating Manhattan Rain and Starspangledbanner.

He started his stud career at Taunton Vale Stud in 2011 and was transferred to Rangeview this year following the death of Taunton Vale owner Kent Johnston
