Wednesday, 19 June 2019: Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on June 19.

Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Canterbury, Sandown, Doomben, Belmont & Balaklava.

Canterbury: Race 5 @ 3:10pm

Plenty of speed here headed by Echo Gem. AIM FOR PERFECTION (4) has raced twice for two soft wins at Newcastle over 1200m, starting in the red on each occasion. Took over a fair way from home last time and beat a handy filly with ease. Deserves her crack in the big smoke and will be very hard to toss. CHILLED ROSE (10) was coming off a 44-day let-up when she closed powerfully from last on the corner to finish 2 lengths away in 5th over 1100m at Gosford recently. Will be tough to hold out today with added fitness over a little more ground. ECHO GEM (1) was able to lead and dominate over this course and distance a fortnight ago. Smart filly who could repeat the dose today although she is getting up in the weights. LICKO'PAINT (8) went well first up and is in the mix. [b]SELECTIONS:[/b] #4 Aim For Perfection is headed for better things. Strong win bet.

Balaklava: Race 3 @ 1:50pm

Speed across the barriers with any number capable of leading. SO INTELLIGENT (10) is an improver who resumes for the Stokes yard off a string of placings. He’s been well-trialled and has the figures to win this if the market indicates she’s ready. GO BALLISTIC (4) will be better for the two runs back and his best will have him right in the finish. SOPHINA DIVA (11) gets a 4kg claim and will use the low gate. Looked in need of it resuming and can make sharp improvement. MISS HARMONIUM (9) resumes and no surprise if she comes back improved. [b]SELECTIONS:[/b] Competitive all day. Will spec #10 So Intelligent each way.

Sandown: Race 4 @ 2:10pm

COLLECTABLE (1) is a last start winner at the mile and at peak for this. Go close again. TIDES (5) placed in city class last time. Has the inside and drawn for a good run. KISS AND CRY (4) is in top form and can measure up. Expected to be doing best work late. PIERRO BELLE (7) has one of the best career ratings of this field and can feature. [b]SELECTIONS:[/b] Collectable can go close again.

Doomben: Race 7 @ 2:50pm

SACRED DAY (1) was unlucky resuming as favourite hitting the line hard and then had big backing placing this trip meeting trouble. The Kiwi can find his best now in a bit easier and gets the blinkers first time and the claim. RATIONALE (4) placed ahead of the above in the same race racing handy. He will run along and is a genuine hope again. POLLINATOR (9) wasn’t far away in that race and was even better beaten a nose prior at Toowoomba. He peaks and as claims. PRIVATE HERO (2) next best, bringing different form lines. [b]SELECTIONS:[/b] #1 Sacred Day looks well placed.
