ATC Foundation To Allocate Charity Grants

Friday, 14 June 2019: The Australian Turf Club Foundation is calling for new applications from registered charities and racing industry bodies for project-related grants of up to $100,000 from funds raised during the recent Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival.

The funds were raised through the ATC Foundation by the sale of Winx merchandise, official Longines Golden Slipper pins, on-course fundraising and ATC Saddle Cloth auctions.

The ATC Foundation was announced in October 2018 to oversee collections and programs for charitable organisations to enhance the Club’s support of racing in communities across Sydney and NSW.

In April this year, it awarded drought relief funds totaling $60,000 to racing industry participants across several towns in the State’s Central and Western Districts, including the provision of water in the worst affected areas.

Australian Turf Club Foundation Chairman Phil Morley said applications for the latest round of grants would close on Monday 15 July and grants would be awarded before the end of August this year.

“In a little over six months the ATC Foundation has not only distributed $60,000 but has raised another $100,000 for causes in the community,” Mr Morley said.

“We are delighted to be able to call for a second round of applications and urge interested parties to check details of the ATC Foundation’s work on our website.”

The second round of grant applications comes as the ATC Foundation was this week announced as a finalist for the 2019 Clubs NSW Clubs & Community Awards.

The ATC Foundation’s Community Engagement program is among finalists in the Heart Of The Community category.
