Thursday, 6 June 2019: Exciting young stallion Better Than Ready broke the record for the number of individual winners produced by a first season sire when his 2YO gelding Raging Pole won at Doomben on Wednesday.

Raging Pole Raging Pole (Better Than Ready x Touchy by Untouchable) landed the Haymans Maiden 2YO Plate (1110m) to become the 19th individual winner for the son of M ore Than Ready in 2018/19.
The wion takes him past the record of 18 set by Northern Meteor in 2012/13 and equalled by Spirit Of Boom last season.
Better Than Ready covered 236 mares in 2018 and wil be standing at Lyndhurst Stud in Queensland for an increased fee of $30,000 (inc GST) this season.
He also leads the first season sire table by stakes winners with three black type winners - The Odyssey, Better Reflection and Jagged Edge.
[b]Another first season sire Dissident took his first crop tally to five winners when Pancho (Dissident x Novel Dancer by Written Tycoon) won at Sandown on June 5.[/b]
Trained by Chris Waller, Pancho joins Challa, Foxborough, Louis Luck and Outlandos as first crop winners by Dissident.
He will stand for a reduced fee of $27,500 (inc GST) this year, having covered 217 mares at $33,000 in 2018.
