The South African industry was the beneficiary when In Her Time’s sire Time Thief  was imported in 2015 from Australia to stand at Hassen Adam’s Nadeson Park Stud.
The classy son of Redoute’s Choice started his stud career in Australia in 2010 but held an attraction for South Africa as he is a three quarter to Danehill’s former champion SA sprinter Laisserfaire from the G3 winner Procrastinate.
A $2 million yearling, Time Thief won or placed in six of his seven outings including a win in the Listed Zeditave Stakes, second in the G1 Caulfield Guineas and third in the G1 Australia Stakes.
A feted broodmare, Procrastinate is the dam of 10 individual winners including Laisserfaire, who won 12 times including five G1 races.
Her full brother Foreplay ran third in the G1 Newmarket Handicap before going to stud. Other top performers out of Procrastinate include Time Thief’s full sister A Time For Julia, who won or placed in 10 stakes races, and the stakes winner and producer Personify.
The family features champion sire Centaine, a full brother to Time Thief’s grand dam Reigntaine.
Time Thief’s first SA-bred crop of yearlings sold in 2018 while his Australian-bred progeny have now won more than 125 races and include five stakes winners.
In Her Time (Time Thief x Hell It’s Hot by Zeditave) is a graduate of the 2014 Sydney Classic Yearling Sale where she was offered by Kanangra Stud on behalf of the estate of her late breeder Denise Cobcroft.
She was passed in at $38,000 on a reserve of $40,000 and has now won nine of her 24 starts for prize money of $3.117 million.
In Her Time  is one of five winners from six foals to race for her winning dam Hell It’s Hot, a half-sister to G3 winner Hot As Hell (County), Hong Kong G3 winner Craig’s Dragon (Catbird) and Listed winner Flaming Hot (County).
The family also features Listed winner Harlem River (Fastnet Rock), Steam Heat (Salieri), Listed winner Pekalan (Sri Pekan), G3 winner Fine Bubbles (Casino Prince) and Alart (Excellent Art).
Hell It’s Hot had an Under the Louvre filly in 2018 and was served by Impending last spring. Her latest yearling by Artie Schiller was passed in at the recent Sydney Classic sale at $150,000.
