Girl Tuesday

Randwick: Race 9 @ 5:50pm

Good competitive affair to round out the day's proceedings with a host of leading chances. Speed should be genuine with speed drawn across the track. GIRL TUESDAY was backed as if unbeatable first up and in truth she never ever looked likely. Taking that SP (10-9F) on face value and happy to forgive that run as her form at the back end of last preparation was very good. Should strip fitter second up and appreciate the firmer footing. Hard to beat from the gun draw. ALL TOO SOON will be better over further, but can certainly sprint well fresh and the stable is going very well at present. Major threat. SMARTEDGE continues to race well, the next in line. SELECTIONS: Sticking with #8 Girl Tuesday.

Flemington: Race 6 @ 3:30pm (AEDT)

Critical Thinking takes it up. HEPTAGON has improved with each run this campaign and last start was a convincing winner at Caulfield over 1400m. Should be peaking at this stage of his prep and getting to the mile fourth up shapes as being ideal. The former Tasmanian ANTAH has looked great in each of his three Victorian runs which followed a lengthy absence due to a tendon injury. Produced his latest success over this trip at Caulfield with a bit up his sleeve. MR MONEY BAGS had a forgettable day out when sixth as favourite behind Heptagon last start at Caulfield. Was trapped wide which took its toll late. Prior runs at this course over seven furlongs were each strong. GUIZOT after placings behind Silentz the best of the rest. SELECTIONS: Siding with #2 Heptagon from #10, #8 and #4.

Doomben: Race 3 @ 3:30pm

Smooth Consul has the early speed to cross to the lead. Bratislava can follow him over. EMPHASIS is racing in fine form. He boxed on well to place over 1800m at Eagle Farm last start but may be better suited back to the mile having won over the journey two back. Jeff Lloyd should be able to find the right position from gate two. Goes on top. BRATISLAVA led on the turn and kept going to score here last start. That was his first attempt at the distance range and he rated well in victory so no surprise to see him go back to back. ASTORIA was only a couple of lengths away at this trip last start and was a close fourth at Listed level before that. Has a win in him soon. SMOOTH CONSUL is up in grade but deserves respect after winning three of his past four starts. SELECTIONS: #2 Emphasis is in form and has the ratings to win from #3, #4 and #6.

Morphettville: Race 2 @ 2:35pm (AEDT)

A few could challenge early. RAGING QUEEN races older horses but the filly is good enough. She was near the speed first up and from the inside can position up about the same. With no weight she may just be too good late. EXTREME THRILL has been favoured in many races and run OK without winning them. He will be back and running on. MISS LABELLE runs you an honest race on most occasions. She comes out of good form races too. SELECTIONS: Like #9 Raging Queen a lot from #3 and #2.

Ascot: Race 7 @ 7:40pm (AEDT)

Key To Fame probably finds the lead, Alpha Sky won't be far away and Rockon Tommy goes forward from a wide gate. NEUROLOGICAL is a very promising type who has won three straight including a feature sprint at Geraldton. Pike staying on board is a big push and he'll go close. ALPHA SKY is coming through the grades quickly and has proven himself at 1400m. Too good at his last couple and is a genuine threat. TELLEM WE'RE COMIN is arguably the best horse in the race but resumes with top weight, a wide gate and his usual rider on something else. Big watch. Mizlecki is a smart mare resuming and worth keeping an eye on her. SELECTIONS: #4 Neurological to win from #3 and #1.
