Sunday, 9 December 2018: The Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott training team has its sights on landing the rich Magic Millions double at Wyong on Wednesday.

Waterhouse boasts the best record in the Wyong Magic Millions races since the first running in 2003 and have two crack contenders for Wednesday’s double.

Unite And Conquer

Unbeaten youngster Unite And Conquer  will tackle the $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic over 1000m while the brilliant mare Invincible Star  flies the flag for the stable in the $100,000 MM 3YO and 4YO Classic over 1200m.
Waterhouse won the Wyong 2YO Classic three times with Pulsator  (2005), She’s Meaner (2007) and Bright Expectations (2009) before her starting her training partnership with Bott two years ago.
She also won the MM race for the older age group twice with Ulladulla (2006) and Sweet Idea (2013) when it was restricted to 3YOs only.
Tim Clark is booked to ride last start Rosehill winner Invincible Star while Adam Hyeronimus has been rewarded with the mount on Unite And Conquer.
Melbourne jockey Stephen Baster rode Unite And Conquer when he made a winning debut in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes over 1000m at Flemington on October 6 but Hyeronimus has been his rider in two Sydney trials.
Hyeronimus is excited about his Magic Millions prospects after his most recent trial win at Randwick on November 27.
“From the first time I rode him I said he was the two-year-old I wanted to be with and I’m thrilled to have kept the ride,” Hyeronimus said.
“I've done everything with the horse and he's much stronger after the trip to Melbourne.”
Unite And Conquer’s works with Saturday’s unbeaten Rosehill winner Czarson  as has had the measure of his stablemate in their recent gallops.

Invincible Star

Clark rode Invincible Star when the 4YO mare bounced back from Group One starts at the Melbourne carnival to win the Listed Starlight Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill on December 1, her first win since a G3 success over 1200m at Caulfield in the spring of 2017.
Emma Pearce, the stable’s racing manager, said both horses are in top form for the Wyong meeting that will catapult them to the $10 million Magic Millions meeting at the Gold Coast on January 12.
“Invincible Star is just going super and I can’t see her getting beaten,” Pearce said. “The race is perfectly placed in her preparation for the Gold Coast.”
The Wyong 2YO Classic has been won by the likes of Snitzel, Capitalist, Not A Single Doubt, Unencumbered and Karuta Queen but this year’s field is shaping as one of the strongest in its history.
The other entries include Breeders Plate winner Dubious , Caulfield Debutant Stakes winner Champagne Boom  and the highly regarded youngsters Spaceboy , Exhilarates , Exceed The Stars  and Vulpes .
Kerrin McEvoy is booked to ride the Godolphin youngster Exhilarates in the 2YO Classic and Bondi  for Team Snowden in the 3 and 4 Classic.
There are 21 entries for the 3 and 4YO Classic including the Melbourne pair Bel Sonic  and Usain Bowler .
Jason Warren’s last start Ballarat winner Bel Sonic arrived in Sydney on Saturday.
