Cox Plate Pins Raise $48,000 For RCHF

Tuesday, 4 December 2018: The Moonee Valley Racing Club raised a record $48,088 for The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation through the sale of 2018 Cox Plate Carnival Charity Pins.

The 2018 Cox Plate Carnival Charity Pins were available to purchase for $5 during race meetings at The Valley from September 8 through to the Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival on October 26-27.
They were also available through volunteer pin sellers at each event during Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival week and at the MV Legends, the Junction Club and Leigh Oak gaming venues.
“We are absolutely delighted to have raised a record amount of $48,088 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation through our Cox Plate Carnival Charity Pin partnership and we are very proud of our staff, volunteers and all those who donated to this worthy cause,” said Don Casboult, MVRC Chairman.
“It has been a record Ladbrokes Cox Plate Carnival for the MVRC in many areas, but this would be one we would be most proud of considering the amazing work the Royal Children’s Hospital does for all Victorians.”
The Royal Children’s Hospital has been providing outstanding care to Victoria’s children and their families for nearly 150 years. Through philanthropy, The RCH Foundation is changing the future of healthcare for children and young people across Australia and the world.
“Community support like this supports medical excellence at the hospital, ensuring the hospital can continue providing outstanding care to our sickest and most vulnerable children”, says Sue Hunt, Chief Executive Officer, The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
“We are thankful for every dollar raise and we wholeheartedly thank the Moonee Valley Racing Club, volunteers and the local community for their generous support.
