Battle Of Troy
Battle Of Troy

RACE 1

GOLDEN SPARK (8) – Was caught wide on the track last time and battled away quite well in a Class 5 over 1000m. Same conditions here and should get a better run from the barrier. Can go forward and be in the finish.

SOLITARE (3) – Is a 10-year-old these days but still running good races. Two starts back raced clear to win by 2.8 lengths in a Class 5 1200m. Back in trip to the 1000m here but should again be running on well.

KUBERA’S CHIEF (4) – Was a bit disappointing last time out. Sat outside the leader but weakened. Form prior would give it a great chance in this race. The 2kg claims for Amirul Ismadi should help. Can be given another chance.

MAKE U FAMOUS (2) – Was placed here two starts back behind Dynamic Eagle beaten 2.8 lengths. Drawn to get the right run from barrier 2 and is worth considering.

RACE 2

FLAUNT (8) – Performed well on debut against a smart type in Calculation. He has since trialled well and certainly finds a suitable task to break maiden status. Will need the right breaks from the wide alley but expect bold showing.

ANOTHER SHOW (2) – Only performed fairly on his Singapore debut but will appreciate switching from the Polytrack to the turf and will appreciate the rise in journey. Capable of showing sharp improvement so don’t ignore.

GOLDEN WIN (1) – On debut. Showed good improvement at his latest trial and appears ready to perform on raceday. Northern Hemisphere gelding who will certainly be more forward than others and is worth considering here.

LIM’S MYSTERY (10) – Has had the benefit of three trials this preparation and appears forward enough for a bold showing fresh. Will need luck from the awkward draw but must be included in the mix. Monitor parade.

RACE 3

DREAMER LEGEND (9) – Looks suited stepping up to the 1400m here. Finished well last time at 1200m and did find a bit of trouble in the straight there. Looks close to a win.

PAPERBACK TROOPER (6) – Drawn wide here but can go forward. If able to cross and find a position certainly looks capable of testing these. Olivier Placais going on looks a positive.

SORBETA (3) – Looks a very interesting runner here. Is first-up in this Kranji Stakes D off one trial for the Lee Freedman stable. Last time in was competitive in a Class 4 non Premier. Monitor any betting moves.

REALLY CAPABLE (5) – Ran on well in a 1200m Kranji Stakes D October 14. The extra distance here looks suitable for this horse and from barrier 6 should find a nice spot.

RACE 4

HEART OF COURAGE (3) – Has only had the one start and will certainly improve from that outing. Was a bit green early in the straight but once balanced up closed off nicely in the last 200m over the 1200m. The extra trip suits and should be in the finish.

SACRED TONIC (4) – Looks a horse that is still learning. Started $12 October 5 in a 1400m Open maiden and was disappointing. Has been back to the trials since and they have added the crossover noseband which should help the horse settle better and finish off.

MAI DARKO (1) – Is a 12-start maiden but is going back onto the turf. Can take a forward position and should run a bold race aided by the claim for Amirul Ismadi.

ELITE TRIPLEEIGHT (6) – Has only had one start and can only improve. On debut, was slow out of the gates and got back in the field, finished off okay. Might be looking for a bit more ground.

RACE 5

WHY NOT (6) – Was narrowly beaten last time out in a four-way thriller. Handy type who will race on the speed and give a sight with the four-kilo claim of Iskandar Rosman. Will take beating with a repeat dose of last start.

NIMBLE (2) – On debut in Singapore. Brings respectable credentials from Western Australia to this affair. Has trialled well leading into this and is well drawn for a bold showing. Major player.

HERACROSS (5) – Returns from a long break of seven months and has had a trainer change. Wasn’t tested in a recent trial and will definitely need luck from the alley but must be considered on best efforts.

EFFORTLESS (7) – Has been racing well in recent times without winning. Well drawn to sit closer to the speed compared to latest runs. Finds a winnable assignment and must be included in the mix.

RACE 6

AYUTTHAYA (2) – Performed gamely last time out when finishing second over the track/distance. Finds another suitable assignment to break maiden status but will need luck in transit from the wide draw. Must be respected.

RED BIRD (7) – On debut. Showed good improvement in most recent trial when winning by close to two lengths. Well drawn for a bold showing and will appreciate the services of Nooresh Juglall. Serious contender.

ITOLDYOUSO (6) – Performed well on debut when fourth behind a smart type in Richebourg. Will appreciate the rise in trip and is well drawn for a forward showing. Query lies with the switch from the Polytrack to the turf.

TAVITO (9) – Has only performed fairly in two career runs but the son of Tavistock strikes as if he will improve in time and will certainly appreciate rising in journey. His recent trackwork indicates he could lift on recent outings. So include.

RACE 7

LIM’S PERSHING (3) – Has been somewhat disappointing in recent runs but is ready to show improvement fourth up from an extended break. Performed well in a recent trial and will appreciate the claim of Troy See. Can surprise at value.

BLITZ POWER (1) – Won well last start when breaking maiden status and certainly finds another suitable assignment. Clearly steps up in grade which is some concern but is worth considering with a repeat dose. The rise in journey looks to be no issue.

ANGHIARI (6) – Won impressively last start after a long run of minor placings. Steps up in grade and looks to get no favours from the wide draw but is worth including with a repeat dose of last start. Mustn’t be ignored.

SATELLITE WARRIOR (4) – Has been a model of consistency in recent times. Has climbed in ratings points but that is somewhat offset by the claim of Lim Aun Kean. Won over the track/distance two starts back. So must be included.

RACE 8

BATTLE OF TROY (1) – Looks better suited here dropping from Kranji Stakes B / Class 3 grade to this Class 4 Non Premier. Also gets barrier 1 and in-form apprentice Amirul Ismadi. Looks an improver.

LOVING YOU (2) – Is racing very well. Only had six starts and has won two races. Has scope to keep improving and gets a nice run from the barrier.

BLACK QUAIL (11) – Likes to race up on the speed. Recent runs have all been solid and connections have added the crossover noseband which may help the horse settle better and conserve more energy.

RED CLAW (10) – Looks another chance in this open race. Has been around the mark in all recent starts and looks like getting the right run. Worth including.

RACE 9

GOLDEN FLAME (3) – Has performed well in two career runs in Singapore. Has since had a recent trial where he won by almost 3.5 lengths and looks primed for a bold showing. Well drawn to be handy to the pace and will certainly give a sight.

SUN HANCOCK (12) – Hasn’t been far from the mark in recent times and finds another suitable task getting down in the weights. Will likely have to press forward from the wide alley and is capable of figuring at the business end. Consider.

LUCKY MASTER (4) – Returns from a four-month layoff. Trialled well leading into this affair and appears ready to go fresh from the inside draw. Will appreciate the claim of Erasmus Aslam and certainly finds a suitable task.

THE GOLDEN GOAT (6) – Won well last start in the same grade when well supported. On the quick back up of seven days which must be respected and is capable of contending again with a repeat dose.
