IN BOCCA AL LUPO
IN BOCCA AL LUPO

RACE 1

GOLD WARRIOR (11) – Has been hitting the crossbar in last four attempts. Is always upfront trying to dictate the pace. 1400m and 1600m seem too long for this horse. Now back to 1200m with the inside draw. Should go close.

LIM’S RHYTHM (2) – Another horse cutting back in distance. Two back, posted a decent second over 1600m on turf. Vlad Duric on board from a better draw on the Polytrack. Can get the best out of his ride.

CALL IT (6) – Last time out showed signs of life. Decent runner-up over a mile on the Polytrack. Now goes shorter and has good jockey Marc Lerner on board. Blinkers and pacifiers first time. Improvement expected.

HIGH LIMIT (3) – Always goes bang from the gates. Manages to get himself in a good position for the finish – but seems to fade a little. 13th April is his key piece of form. A repeat of that will see him pop in for the exotics.

RACE 2

GALVARINO (7) – Narrow Group 2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe runner-up returns to the track after being narrowly beaten by Lim’s Lightning (winner last Sunday). Has had two good trials – won last trial on 13th September – form of that race is very strong (11 runs - 3 winners since).

GAMELY (1) –Was not too far away last run, beaten under one length to Fire Away in same grade. Nooresh Juglall keeps the ride and horse stretches out an extra 100m. Trip will suit and he will be there at the finish.

CALCULATION (5) – Won a good trial in 61.03 back on 11th September. He is a half-brother to five winners and his dam has won six and is Listed-placed. Must respect on debut.

AXEL (2) – Hit the frame on last run back on 7th Sept. Was finishing race off well. Vlad Duric retains the ride with a better draw. One for the exotics.

RACE 3

ALLEGRO (1) – Done enough in Kranji D last time out when running home in the quickest sectional (23.29) to suggest he can take this contest now up in trip.

METAGROSS (2) – Another to bring Kranji D form to the party and a bit like the selection, shaped as if the step-up in distance will be a positive.
SACRED TONIC (3) – Placed over 1400m and 1600m in Nez Zealand and was second in his second trial here. Looks the type who wants further than this trip but in a race of this nature, should be included.

BLITZ POWER (8) – Recent trial success puts her right for a bold show here.

RACE 4

CRACKING TOTTIE (3) – Scratched at the gates on last intended run when getting very upset in the stalls. Has trialled since and went very nicely, and on the pick of her form, this would look like an ideal opportunity for her. Form of her last two races is working out well.

NORTHERN KNIGHT (1) – Has been in good form of late off similar marks in the mid-50s and once again should be bang there at the business end of the race.

OLIVER (10) – Ran a screamer in this grade when third to Introit last time out and repeat of that performance gives him every chance.

AMAZING MAN (6) – On the back of a good second off a mark of 50 last time out. It would seem that the handicapper has cut him enough slack to once again find the winners’ enclosure soon.

RACE 5

SIMPANG (10) – Could be the way to pay in this extremely weak and uncompetitive Class 5. Shaped okay last time in fourth.

CAVATINA (7) – Nearly two years since he won his one and only race! Would have a part to play on the pick of his form.

YELLOW JADE HORSE (3) – Was running well in similar races prior to his last start back in maiden company. Can make an impact.

BOHEMIAN (11) – A long-standing maiden mare (0-30), who ran well over the course and distance at the beginning of the month (ahead of Let’s Talk Now). One for the quartet.

RACE 6

SOLDADO (4) – This Shane Baertschiger-trained horse has been running very well of late without winning and would deserve to land this prize here.

CLASSIFIED (5) – Ran a solid race when runner-up to Ladrone last time out and remains on an attractive handicap mark.

DESTROYER ECLIPSE (1) – A course and distance winner last October and has trialled nicely recently in blinkers.

MASTER OF MALIBU (2) – Made all to land a 50-55 rated Class 4 Non-Premier last time out. More required here but is in good form and should be included.

RACE 7

IN BOCCA AL LUPO (1) – This 6yo mare has a very taking record in this grade of race and looks very well treated by the conditions of this race.

RAPTOR (4) – Proving rather costly for punters and is still yet to win one, but has run second at his last four appearances and must be put in the frame.

THOTH WARRIOR (7) – Comes into this on the back of a nice run and is one to include in the exotics.

MILLION ROUND (2) – Gets back to his ideal type of racing now in Class 5 and should never be ruled out when the conditions suit him so well.

RACE 8

PRINCE ALEXANDER (4) – Has developed a handy record in a relatively short career. Appreciates the Polytrack surface. Well suited over the journey and gets leading rider Vlad Duric to take the reins. Expect bold showing.

EVERYBODY HAPPY (1) – Isn’t ideally drawn but resumes in this affair after a recent trial win. Lightly-raced and still appears to have upside, so must be considered as a major player.

KING KONG (3) – Was somewhat disappointing last start but can make amends in this contest from the inside draw. Must produce his best effort but certainly finds conditions to suit. In the mix.

HOWL (2) – Has developed a respectable record in short career. Was only beaten just over two lengths last start and will enjoy the slight rise in journey. Will appreciate Troy See’s claim.

RACE 9

DRONE (5) – Slightly disappointing last start when best of the rest behind Dash but he is still lightly-raced, and it may well be worth going in with him again.

OTTAWA (1) – Makes a lot of appeal in this grade (last eight starts in Class 3). Won a trial on Tues in 61.14 but the trip would be the underlying concern. Now back to 1000m.

INVINCIBLE MAN (9) – Class 5 scorer on latest run and that’s now his grade but he can produce a sound effort in this sort of company from time to time.

MAN OF WORDS (11) – Closed off well enough in his most recent start and could represent some value in a weak race.
