Brisbane may have rested their star centre for the NRL Women's Premiership grand final but coach Paul Dyer says they aren't getting ahead of themselves.

Meg Ward trained with the Broncos on Thursday but will be sidelined from Friday's crunch clash with the Warriors in Melbourne due to a hand injury.

Brisbane - the only undefeated side - can guarantee a grand final berth and knock the Warriors out of the equation with an AAMI Park victory.

If the Broncos secure a third straight win, their opponent will be decided by Saturday's St George Illawarra-Sydney Roosters final regular-season clash.

Dyer may rolled the dice with Ward but denies they already have one eye on the grand final.

"No, because we haven't got there. Every team is a chance of playing in a grand final," he said.

"As soon as your mindset becomes 'we are already there' ... you could be under the pump and before you know it you are not playing in a grand final.

"I have been working with the girls all week making them fully aware they have another tough game ahead of them.

"I can't fault the girls' attitude since they arrived six weeks ago."

Still, Dyer kept his fingers crossed Ward, who was booked for scans this week, would be available for the season decider.

'There was a bit of swelling there but we will get it checked out next week," he said.

"You saw she was looking good out there having a run. She should be right if we get there."

Dyer believed Brisbane - featuring six New Zealand players - would be focused on the Warriors clash, expecting it to be used as a Kiwi Ferns trial before October's Auckland Test against the Jillaroos.

"I have no doubt the Kiwi Ferns staff will essentially pick their Test team from this game," he said.
