RACE 1

VENUS DE MILO (6) – Blinkers saw her nearly shed her maiden status last time out. Rises back up to the mile. Pacifiers added. Will take some beating.

BERLINETTA (10) – On the quick back-up after a fighting second to Big Banker last Friday. If he reproduces that run, he should be in with a chance again.

ANGHIARI (1) – Still winless after 20 runs but came close with two seconds at last two outings. Trip up his alley. Nice barrier. Go close.

MA YOU CAI (4) – Starting to hit top form. All headgear dropped. Matthew Poon factor can swing things around. Include in calculations.

RACE 2

GRAND CHOICE (6) – Two forward runs in as many starts, albeit seven months apart. Not without ability. Stick with him.

SUN FEI (2) – Showed marked improvement at last two runs. Had nice quiet trial last Thursday. Only query is wide gate. Keep safe.

SUN ARES (1) – Comes here with handy Victorian form. Won barrier trial on July 24. Marble one is a big plus. Blinkers on. Won’t surprise if he gets off the mark on debut.

GROUND ATTACK (7) – A touch disappointing second-up after debut second. Changed yard. Blinkers replace crossover noseband and right-sided blinkers. Worth following.

RACE 3

ABSOLVIDO (1) – Flew home for third last time out. Blinkers on. Drawn awkwardly but it’s okay as he gets back. Hard to beat.

GAIN ECLIPSE (6) – Former Malaysian one-time winner who has done nothing wrong in three starts here. Should be able to track up nicely from her good gate. Not without a say.

TURF PRINCESS (2) – Last-start winner who will find this a little tougher. Has trained on, though, and should be in with some say.

SPECIAL RAIN (3) – Finally gets a good draw. Expect a better run from him if he gets to save ground on the rails.

RACE 4

D’GREAT BOSS (8) – One of the revelations to have emerged from in-form trainer Young Keah Yong. Up in grade, but with only 53kgs on his back and a handy draw to boot, he should be in the reckoning.

FIRST CHOICE (3) – Commands respect in such a field. Looks well on the training tracks. Won’t be far behind when the whips are cracking.

HIMALAYA DRAGON (2) – Honest mare who never shirks a fight despite her ageing legs. Will chime in late. Don’t underestimate her.

OTTAWA (11) – Steamed home late for smack-up third to stablemate Mr Hanks last time out. Drops back in trip. Can’t be ruled out.

RACE 5

ZAC ACE (2) – Won a nice barrier trial last Thursday. Has not quite measured up in Class 3 company and will find this easier. Leading hope.

OCULIST (1) – Knocking on the door. Blinkers seem to have improved him last start. Big step-up in distance should not pose any problem.

HAPPY SAGA (3) – One of those horses who pops up every now and then. Will be suited by a fast pace. Keep in mind.

WONDERFUL ERA (8) – Showed a return to form at last run. Whether he performs again remains to be seen. Marble one. Place claims look better.

RACE 6

SIAM SAPPHIRE (8) – Back from a four-month break. Can pick up where he left off (win in a Class 2 race over 1200m). Trip a little sharp but from barrier No 3, he won’t be too far off. Bold run in store.

AL GREEN (5) – Forget his last run. Had to burn a lot of petrol three wide before he could find the lead. Was left a sitting duck in the straight. Chances enhanced if ridden more quietly.

AUTUMN RUSH (1) – Found the opposition a little too rich at his last outing. In his element here. If he can get some cover from wide barrier, he will be a major threat late.

MOKASTAR (10) – Has mixed his form a little, but with no weight on his back here, he may bounce back. In the hunt on best form.

RACE 7

TRIPLE TRIO (8) - Was eased out of the race after getting hampered by the race fall at the 600m. Has since trialled in good fashion. Bears watching again.

GOLD STRIKE (3) – Bidding for a three-in-a-row but faces a sterner test with three kilos more on his back. Has maintained his form and should still be able to hold his own here. Nicely drawn.

GOL GOAL (2) – Found the opposition harder at his last run, in his bid for a three-in-a-row, but lost no admirers either. Inside gate helps, even if he can fluff his lines at the barriers, though. Can finish in the money.

REINE DASHER (11) – Didn’t seem to handle the Polytrack last start. Reverts to turf. Can redeem himself.

RACE 8

NOWYOUSEE (2) – Hard to get past. Was scratched two weeks ago after a shoeing issue. Back to his best and it would take a brave man to tip against him, especially from the handy gate.

MY HORSE (1) – This looks like a race cut out for him. Will get the run of the race from the low draw and if he gets a soft run in the lead or in a handy spot, he will be in this for a long way.

PREFERRED (4) – Consistent sort who has, however, found it more challenging at a higher grade. Can still be counted on for his customary late dash.

COUNTRY BOSS (9) – Rising in class after a dominant win in Class 4 Non Premier race over 1200m last time out. May find the 1000m a little short, but if they roll along, he can take a hand at the business end.
