Canberra: Race 7 @ 4:05pm

Ollie The Third and Dyfield look the pacesetters. Very open affair. VOLPE was beaten 3L in a strong highway back in March. Freshened up for this and you get the sense Williams has targeted him for this race. 1400m his pet trip and Heywood has partnered him to success previously. Plenty to like. CROIX DE VIE has a habit of running well in these "Federals". Gets back so wide draw no concern. Win here two back was exceptional. WHO'S KNOCKING is fifth up in a maiden prep but worth including once more. Other chances to CITY OF KIRKWALL, PRINCE JACKO and OLLIE THE THIRD. SELECTIONS: Volpe with a sense of timing.

$3.90 is Volpe’s current price.
Using Ladbrokes Odds boost however, $4.50 is available.

Muswellbrook: Race 7 @ 4:20pm

Goldfinch from the soft draw should take control. GOLDFINCH stuck on tremendously well after racing wide the trip last time out. Drops in grade and finds her race to bounce back. Competitive in much better races over her career. EMINENT DUKE beat her home/won race but was afforded a luxury run through. Has since raced at Warwick Farm and performed well there, beaten 2.7L by Marsupial. Drawn awkwardly but racing too well to dismiss. BONITA has won 3/4 fresh. Ready to fly with the light weight. SELECTIONS: Goldfinch for the win.

Hamilton: Race 8 @ 5:00pm

ARISTOBEAUX was an easier winner on debut and resumes here as a gelding for Ciaron Maher with the claim. Should be improved and no surprise if he repeats. BLACK PLATINUM was slow off on the soft this grade at Warrnambool and went close. Draws handy with a claim and is a much better chance that the market suggests. MAXEY CAMPO placed twice and then pulled up with an issue in stronger at the Valley. This is easier and he can bounce with the handy claim. MIEL DE LAGO and MISTER WILL also deserve consideration. SELECTIONS: # 1 Aristobeaux is sure to take beating if he remains popular in the market. Certainly having something on # 4 Black Platinum at the $9.0. He only has to hold the last-start rating to play a major role.
