RACE 1
SOON YI (1) – He has never been able to ever win over 1100m but ran home well from the rear last start only beaten 2L.
SOLITAIRE (4) – Improved performance last time out when second behind Bonjour Bob. Could be worth following this time.
SECONDWAVE (6) – Another honest effort last start for second after winning two back, he closed off well at the finish after having a tough run.
BOHEMIAN (9) – Could be clutching at straws but ran home pretty well last start after being legless from the get go.

RACE 2
WECANDO (9) – Did a few things wrong on debut but still plugged on solidly behind the winner Eastiger. Will strip fitter for this. Respect.
KISS YOUR SONG (1) – Knocking on the door. Narrowly touched out at his last run. Will get the run of the race from marble one.
GLAMOROUS (2) – Was seen catching up steadily at his last run even if he would not have threatened the winner Sattar. Keep him in the mix.
GINGERMAN (3) – Showed slight improvement at his last start. Worth a place thought with a bit of luck.

RACE 3
ELITE WARRIOR (2) – Went around priced at $22 in the market and was only fair in doing so. Go again in a race which is very open.
INVINCIBLE MAN (3) – He doesn’t have a hopeless record at this distance, was supported last start but came back a roarer. The Khoo/Juglall combination has to be respected.
WHITE COFFEE (4) – For an old boy, he hasn’t been running badly in recent months. Always worth including into the multiples with the 2kg apprentice claim.
LUCKY BOY (6) – A winner two starts back and has been in the money four times from six runs at this trip. Ran on fairly last start.

RACE 4
SWIFT EMBRACE (2) – Beaten at $14 in a Maiden two back and was only just fair last time in a week race, jury is out.
OL MATE BUZZER (5) – Won a trial two weeks ago by 5L in 62.41. Beaten 12.5L on debut at $16 – take on trust.
PACIFIC PEARL (7) – Showed a little form last start then running the best race of her career for third at a big price.
Of the rest it is very hard to find another chance on form and ability, so it might be worth taking the field and hoping a rougher-priced runner rolls into the quartet.

RACE 5
ROYAL GUARD (8) – Not a bad run last time out, he has only 54.5kgs here and could have found a nice opportunity to get off the mark in Singapore.
DAZZLING SPEED (4)– Precocious type who won on 2yo debut in NZ over 880m, has trialled okay and wouldn’t have to be a superstar to get competitive here. Interesting.
TYPHON (2) – Comes into this in great form at present but has to translate turf form to the Polytrack.
FAREES (1) – Is one for the backend of the quartet judging on his Polytrack run two starts ago.

RACE 6
SMART VINTAGE (3) – Improved effort last start for third placing. Has been good enough to win/place at 1700m in the past.
YULONG HONOR (4) – May not be the worst in this moderate line-up. Trialled okay since that performance so would rate a hope.
DREAM BIG (9) – Has had a slight freshen-up since his last run. Placed in a recent trial so could be included for the quartet.
MOMENT OF JUSTICE (2) – Comes from a turf 2000m race last start, Vlad Duric on from gate 1 so should be respected.

RACE 7
KRATOS (2) – Has been scratched twice recently but looked good when beaten only 0.5L. Is the one they all have to beat.
RED DAWN (4) – Resumes for 2018 off the back of two recent trials, won first-up last year over 1100m. Must include with the 4kg claim.
YULONG XIONG BA (7) – Improved performance second-up at a big quote last time, could add spice to the multiples.
STOCK BROKER (6) – Very hard to leave the Michael Clements runners out, if he’s going to win he probably needs to lead.

RACE 8
SILVER WIN FORTUNE (2) – A last-start winner coming through a weak Open Maiden contest, needs to be taken on trust.
SAINT LINCOLN (6) – Picked up a nice win last start at $17. Should be good enough and have improvement for this.
PRINCE FERDINAND (5) – Has been disappointing in his past two efforts, excuses to back and a wide gate last start. Forgive.
PARAGON STAR (4) – Raced midfield with cover last start and had a few traffic issues in the straight. Market support is key.
