Sunday Singapore Race Previews - March 18
  Story By Mike Lee

Friday, 16 March 2018: Form previews for Kranji, Sunday March 18.

RACE 1
HEE’S FORTE (2) – Riding change here with leading jockey Vlad Duric booked to partner this four-time winner. Duric has won on him before and he should be followed with confidence if there is market support.
HEAVENLY HAND (1) - Recent record at Class 5 is very good with consecutive placings at this level. In-form apprentice Noh Senari and a handy barrier will aid the cause of this 5yo mare who will be running on hard.
SUN SEEKER (5) – Still winless after 22 runs in Singapore. However, he is holding consistent form.
YELLOW JADE HORSE (3) – An 11-start maiden who may improve with the senior rider Nooresh Juglall booked to ride.
RACE 2
ABLE PINS (1) – Risky proposition who did plenty wrong and ran off the track last time in the home straight. He has since trialled very nicely and might be worth one last chance.
CONSERVATION (6) – Newcomer for the China Horse Club who raced in Australia. Has had plenty of trials so should be fit and meets a weak field here.
SORBETA (8) - Ran off the track last time. Will appreciate a better barrier and the form from his effort two starts back is good enough to win here.
CASEY (9) – Coming through a stronger Restricted Maiden and ran fairly last time. Will appreciate the feather weight here.
RACE 3
GOLDEN THUNDER (10) – Drops back in trip and may find this a touch sharp. Was a little hampered close home last time. Chances will be enhanced by a genuine tempo.
COUNTRY BOSS (6) – Been knocking on the door for a while. Can race handy or be held up for a run. Leading chance.
MOONRAKER (4) – Kept on without really threatening the winner Elise at her last start. Lightly-raced mare who has not won since her only win in June 2016. Not without claims.
MISTER YEOH (3) – Newcomer who has trialled well without setting the world on fire. Place claims for a debut.

RACE 4
KADIMA (8) – Debutant who showed his barrier trial rivals a clean set of heels from the get-go on February 27. Seems to have a high cruising speed and can score first-up.
VISTARA (6) – Showed marked improvement at his second start. Yard in good form at the moment. Can surprise.
KISS YOUR SONG (2) – Has been hitting around the mark for a while. Handles both turf and Polytrack. There is a win for him soon.
SATTAR (1) – Had excuses at his last run when he jumped awkwardly and was trapped three deep as they went at a solid clip upfront. Drawn better this time. Can make amends if he jumps on terms.
RACE 5
CHOCOLATS (5) – Led and set a slow tempo over 2000m before being collared in the last stride. Still searching for first win in Singapore but is suited back to the 1600m and should run favourite.
HUMDINGER (6) – Absolutely flying at the moment. He was racing at Class 5 level in May last year and has turned his form around completely. Yet to fully prove himself over 1600m but going too well to ignore.
LIM’S REGARD (7) – Frontrunner who has a gear change with the blinkers coming off. Suited on the Short Course.
DARCI CHARMER (1) – Query at the 1600m but racing well currently. Luckless recently sitting out wide but still closing in for creditable effort over 1400m. Hasn’t won since June 2015.
RACE 6
LUCKY TIGER (1) – On his debut second to Vesontio, he is expected to improve further. Likely favourite in this average Maiden field.
WALTERS BAY (7) – Stuck on okay at his last outing. Been working well and there is no reason why he cannot make his presence felt here.
SKYDANCE ECLIPSE (4) – Did serve notice of a better run at his last race. May not be winning material yet but can be included in calculations.
GOLDEN GATES (6) – Stayed one-paced when jockey asked for a supreme effort last time out. Making some shape of headway, but place claims look more realistic.

RACE 7
THE ODDS (4) – Nice sort who is resuming. Looks like the sort who won’t stop at just one win under the belt. Can score first-up.
TRIGAMY (8) – Model of consistency who should be in his element here. Just got beat by the promising Mr Colin at his last run. Stiffer task but should be up to it.
SACRED GURU (3) – Nearly scored second-up. Looks to have some potential. Commands respect.
KNIGHT WAGER (1) – Showed a return to form at his last run. Long time between drinks (last win in September 2015). Chance if he reproduces that run here.
RACE 8
INFANTRY (1) – Singapore’s best horse who returned with a creditable placing in the Group 3 Fortune Bowl. He is flying in his trackwork and trial and the one to beat despite the top weight.
ELITE EXCALIBUR (3) – Top class horse who narrowly missed in the Patron’s Bowl and the Singapore Gold Cup in 2017. Goes best fresh and deserves to finally win some Singapore silverware.
FOREVER YOUNG (8) – Singapore Guineas winner in 2017 who will try and lead the field here. Well drawn with a feather weight and might take some catching here on the Short Course.
MR SPIELBERG (10) – Enormous run last time to make ground off a slow tempo. Trialled brilliantly on Tuesday, however will need an enormous amount of luck from a wide gate.
RACE 9
VIVIANO (1) – Was meant to run in the Class 2 race last week. In good order and will enjoy the run of the race from barrier No 2. Top-three finish on the cards.
AL GREEN (5) – Honest sort who pops up every now and then. Back on turf, which he is just as effective on as Polytrack. Drawn awkwardly, but it won’t matter so much for him as he gets back.
JUSTICE DAY (8) – Impressive last-start winner tackling stronger grade. In fine fettle on the training tracks but may have to settle for the minors this time.
FLAK JACKET (6) – Getting on but showed he still had the chops when a fast-finishing third to Tannhauser two runs back. Go on trust.

RACE 10
LIM’S BULLET (3) – Honest type who was outgunned in a similar race recently. Drawn to race handy and ready to win after two narrow defeats.
MILITARY MIGHT (6) – Coming through the same race as Lim’s Bullet which was a bunched finish. Glen Boss going on is a positive but he may have to work hard from the extreme outside barrier.
O’REILLY BAY (1) – First run since November and he’s had two trials which have been fair. If he is fit enough then he should be working into the race in the concluding stages.
OPTIMUM STAR (7) – Unlucky not to place recently. Drawn to get an easy run and must be included in quartets.
