After a players’ vote, Ziebell who replaced Andrew Swallow last season will continue captaining the Roos in 2018.
His start to captaincy was unceremonious with the Kangaroos plummeting to a love -five start and finishing 15th on the ladder.
According to Ziebell, the team collectively has learnt a lot during the past 18 months and going 0-5 in the beginning of last year was a huge challenge.
Ziebell was also appreciative of the resolve of the players at that hard juncture and was full of praise for the team for their courage during the season.
Ziebell was also unlucky on the injury front, with shoulder, rib and toe injuries which required surgery that saw him miss three games late in the season.
According to Ziebell an adjusted training plan during the Christmas vacation and effective training has elevated him to 100% fitness for the 2018 season.
