Peter Skapetis has reunited with his former Young Socceroos coach Paul Okon after leaving Brisbane Roar to sign a deal with A-League rivals Central Coast Mariners.

Skapetis, 23, was released by the Roar on Thursday after failing to make an impact in his 14 appearances this season.

But the ex-QPR and Stoke City youth player has landed on his feet with a contract for the rest of the A-League campaign to join Okon at the Mariners.

"Everything happened very quickly and I'm really happy to be here and looking forward to meeting all the boys," Skapetis said.

"The type of football Paul Okon has the Mariners playing was a big factor for me - I've always respected him."

Skapetis will be available to play in Central Coast's clash against Sydney FC on Saturday and will add depth to the Mariners' attacking ranks after a lean run in front of goal over the Christmas-New Year period.
