Magic Millions - Plumptre Buys Top Lot From Book 2

Monday, 15 January 2018: A filly by Not a Single Doubt topped Book 2 of the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale when she sold for $280,000.

In a great result for a client of Queensland nursery Grandview, the filly was knocked down to formr Godolphin executive Henry Plumptre’
He was buying for new Cambridge Stud owners Brendan and Jo Lindsay from New Zealand with the filly set to race in Australia.
"She's such a lovely individual," Plumptre said. "It's been a fantastic sale and we've been looking for the right filly and she fitted the bill.
"I thought she was a sweet filly with a great attitude."
Plumptre said the filly would head to Scone to be broken in and would be placed with either a Sydney or Melbourne trainer.
The Not A Single Doubt filly was one of six youngsters to sell for $200,000 or more on the fifth day of the Magic Millions sale.
The top three lots were all fillies with daughters of I Am Invincible ($250,000) and Spirit Of Boom ($240,000) proving popular.
The three colts purchased for $200,000 or more are by Rubick, Husson and Dissident.
Over $10.5 million was traded on 158 lots sold at a record clearance rate of over 84 per cent. The average price was a record $66,690.
"The momentum carried through to Book 2 which was to be expected on the back of the record breaking Book One sale," said departing Magic Millions managing director Vin Cox.
"It's been a fantastic five days of selling and I want to thank all of our supporters, breeders, buyers and friends.”
Book 3 of the Gold Coast Yearling Sale as well as the Summer Racehorse Sale will be held on Tuesday.
