Ballarat Cup Next For Mr Garcia

Monday, 20 November 2017: Classy European import Mr Garcia will have his first start for the Darren Weir stable at Ballarat on Saturday.

Mr Garcia made his Australian debut with a win over 1800 metres at Flemington on November 9 while still under the care of leading German trainer Andreas Wohler.
The Australian Bloodstock-owned Mr Garcia  was transferred to Weir after the win to continue his career in Australia.

He will make his debut for the premier Melbourne trainer in Saturday’s Listed Ballarat Cup (2200m).
“We are planning to run next Saturday. By all reports the horse has come through his Flemington win in good order and if the stable are happy with him the Ballarat Cup looks a good option,” said Australian Bloodstock’s Jamie Lovett.
Weir will have a strong team nominated for the Ballarat Cup meeting on his home track.
Meanwhile Australian Bloodstock’s former Japanese galloper Admire Deus remains on the edge after he suffered yet another setback.
Admire Deus  was a late withdrawal from the Caulfield Cup in October after breaking down on the eve of the race.
The 6YO entire has since undergone three operations.
"It's very hard to make progress when he keeps having setbacks,” Lovett said.
“I just feel for the horse. He's obviously very tough because he's really having a hard time.
“We're doing everything to save him."
