Donald: Race 6 @ 4:15pm

HARD EMPIRE was a different horse with blinkers on last start, leading and racing away to bolt in. Should be right on the speed again from the inside gate so will be tough to beat with a similar performance. THE PASSAGE made some ground after a slow getaway when resuming. Better for that outing so looks capable of improvement. FLO FO is talented and has claims off a good second last time out. [b]SELECTIONS[/b]: #2 Hard Empire to win again after bolting in last start from #6 and 7.

Canberra: Race 4 @ 2:51pm

ZAMBADA was a big tip latest but could only manage a third. He takes on older horses again here but hard to knock the upside he possesses. This trip suits and he is worth another chance. PAHRULI broke the deserving maiden at this track/distance a fortnight ago. She can measure-up from that and the stable are firing on all cylinders. [b]SELECTIONS: [/b] #7 Zambada gets the nod from #9.

Newcastle: Race 7 @ 5:00pm

LOMAZZO placed three times before winning a 65 fourth-up as a firm favourite. The Kris Lees galloper looks well-placed to deliver again. UPTOWN LAD resumes off a couple of trials and has won FU. Raced well in the city last preparation and is right up to this with the claim. SHOW 'EM also resumes off stronger city races and the Freedman galloper has trialled well for the return. He will run along for O’Hara and looks a genuine hope. ASSERTIN MISCHIEF is also in the mix. [b]SELECTIONS:[/b] Backing #1 Lomazzo each way from #3 and #2.

Strathalbyn: Race 8 @ 5:10pm (AEDT)

COOL FONZY is a lightly raced but promising gelding who broke through last start after placing at eight of his first nine starts. Fitter again third up so may be able to go on with it now. VONRASANA showed good improvement when runner up here last start. Got to the line well so the longer trip suits and can progress again third up. IMPULSE DIAVOLO can improve with good credentials at both the track and the trip. [b]SELECTIONS[/b]: #1 Cool Fonzy to go back to back from #4 and #2.

Albany: Race 5 @ 7:25pm (AEDT)

WILD FUSION broke back into the winner's stall last start when too strong on-speed at Bunbury over 1690m. Rates highly off the back of that effort and remains open to further improvement at just his seventh start. Drawn a touch awkwardly but still shapes as one of the hardest to beat. MR PAGO was only narrowly beaten first up and he has won second up previously. Rates well and looms as a major threat. HASHTAG next best. [b]SELECTIONS[/b]: Keen on progressive 3YO Wild Fusion from #5 and #8.
