RACE 1
A tricky little race to work out here. The logical way to go could well prove to be with the grade dropper GET GOING (1). He has only run in this grade once and that was a successful one way back in February of last year and since then has taken a while to get back down to his only winning mark (43). He does not win out of turn, so some caution is advised but with some sound recent efforts in better races he can go very close here. SIR REGINALD (4) will relish the step-up in trip here and is beginning to find his form again after spending a bit of time in the doldrums. He was wide last time but boxed on nicely over an inadequate trip. DARCI’S BOY (9) has run two nice races in a visor of late and receives a couple of kilos from both Get Going and Sir Reginald and should once again be up to a top-four finish. The selections are completed by SUN EMPIRE (6), who needs to lead to be seen to best effect and has a proven record over course and distance.

RACE 2
The most intriguing of Restricted Maiden races with not a great deal of form to go on and some nicely-bred newcomers in the line-up. The form pick is ATEEJ (2) for Ricardo Le Grange. He was still very green on his debut when running second as a well back second favorite behind Ebraz (same ownership) at $24. He has since won a trial (60.64) and should have benefitted from the experience. He should prove to just have the edge over the newcomers in the race. The best of the debutants can be ZAC KASA (10), trained by the in-form Cliff Brown for the Zac Stable. This well-bred son of Reset is related to plenty of winners and finished off very smartly in the second of his trials on October 3 and can make an impact on debut here. EASY DOES IT (5), the son of Super Easy for Stephen Gray has won a trial handsomely and is stoutly bred on the dam side suggesting he might get further in time but has done nothing wrong in preparation for this first start. The quartet is made up with another newcomer in the form of MOLINEUX (7), he has trialled well for this debut run and looks as if he will most definitely have a future here in Singapore.

RACE 3
The third race is a useful Class 4. LIM’S ROYAL (5) is a progressive type who ran some handy races earlier in the year. He resumed from a lengthy break last start and his effort was solid and after being slowly away he came from well back on the fence to issue a challenge and didn’t get the clearest runs at a crucial stage. Off a handicap mark of 54 points he should have plenty of more wins in him. METALLOCENE (3) impressed on debut over 1200m and disappointed a little last time when well held in a handy Novice race over further. Trying Class 4 for the first time here, the shift back to 1200m might be significant for this son of Darci Brahma.WONDERFUL KNIGHT (1) has the talent to win but can be a bit unpredictable. He was at his best last time when leading and running a strong opening sectional before being run down by the exciting newcomer Paparazzi. Has to lump 58kgs which won’t be easy but he is a smart horse and loves the turf. BUENOS AIRES (2) is raced by the China Horse Club and is coming through the same race as Lim’s Royal. His two efforts in Singapore have been fair after winning two races over 1200m in Australia. He should be getting fitter with every run and further improvement is expected.

RACE 4
The fourth race is a Maiden over 1100m run on the Polytrack. CHOCANTE (2) was given a big chance when making his Singapore debut but got stirred up at the gates. His effort was fair but he hit a brick wall in the final furlong and weakened noticeably. He trialled very nicely on September 21, but failed his starting stall test, again showing bad manners. His subsequent starting stall test was very quiet, drifting out the back beaten 25 lengths but the margin is best ignored. If he can remain composed at the gates he should race very well. DRAGON KINGDOM (6) resumed from a break after a string of trials, he was highly thought of in the market only to have a tough run in transit before weakening late. He has drawn the same gate again so he is relying on a little more luck in this. KING OF WAR (3) had a tough run last start sitting wide for the entire journey. Given a freshen-up by British trainer James Peters, King Of War trialled impressively with Blinkers recently winning his 1000m trial in 60.54. This 4yo son of Exceed And Excel has champion rider Manoel Nunes in the saddle and is expected to run well with the blinkers being worn. BELT AND ROAD (1) worked pretty hard when making his Singapore debut. He got tired but showed enough to suggest he can be competitive in this race. His dam Raja Lane was a nice sprinting mare from Australia winning seven races.

RACE 5
The fifth race is a tricky Class 5. SUPER BIG (4) likes to roll forward in his races. However, he had to take a sit behind the frontrunner last start and battled away fairly into a place. He is well drawn and the 2kg claim for Noh Senari should be very handy. KING OF THIEVES (9) has had a dramatic drop of four points by the handicapper after his last-start performance. The booking of Olivier Placais is a terrific move by trainer Leslie Khoo and he rates a longshot chance. King Of Thieves has won over the 1400m before and can improve sharply. POMP (1) has only ever run over the 1400m once before when finishing almost five lengths from the winner. He likes to lead and could be left a sitting shot on the lengthy home straight of the Long Course. KASHAN (5) got a long way off the pace last start and proved a little disappointing for his legion of fans. The blinkers go on here and he certainly can improve as he gets over further.

RACE 6
A rather interesting class 4 over the mile with three last start winners in the field. The selection here is the lightly raced MR CLINT (5), with only two runs under his belt this 3yo son of Power was beaten by Moment Of Justice last time out on softer ground but given that was a Kranji D and this a class 4 he now finds himself better off at the weights with his conqueror this time around, the step-up to 1600m should not be against him and he can continue on an upward curve for trainer Lee Freedman. SECRET WIN (2) can give him most to think about in this, well held last time on Polytrack this 5yo is better than that form and will much prefer getting back on turf here with Benny Woodworth back on board and on his form back in July he is more than capable of going close. MOMENT OF JUSTICE (1)won nicely last time out on rain-softened going but does have to prove he is just as effective in this grade as both recent victories have been at Kranji Stakes D. He can make the frame given he is in good heart at present. MAJULAH (7) can complete the quartet for race 6. A winner last time in the stewards room he tries the 1600m for the first time and this is slightly tougher than the company he has been facing of late.

RACE 7
Slightly unusual Class 5 on the Polytrack with five of the runners coming in to this race on the back of a top 4 finish last time out. The nod will go the way of HERACLES (5) who found himself short of room in the straight last time out when racing in this grade for the first time. He has won a trial (63.21) and now has the pacifiers added to blinkers and the services of the excellent Nooresh Juglall in the plate. He can prove a tough nut to crack here. JACKS SECRET (3) was having just his second start in Class 5 last time out and came up short against Nova Ranger after starting slowly. The extra 100m should suit him and he should now be ready to run another nice race. SOUTHERN CHIEF(4) finished off really nicely (22.86) at his first start in the basement grade last time out ($24 fav) having covered plenty of ground into the home straight under Pregasam Dellorto. On the evidence of that performance he should be bang there come the business end of the 1200 meters. A chance is taken with DONTLOOKDOWNONME (1) to fill the quartet, placed just once in five starts to date, he is now racing in a Class 5 for the first time.

RACE 8
CHALAZA (3) enjoyed a glorious run last time from gate 1, but the frontrunner Battle Of Troy dictated the race with snail-like sectionals. Chalaza couldn’t make up the ground with a heavy weight burdening is gallant effort. His previous run was pleasing and he will be one of the more fancied runners in the market. BRAHMA CIRCUS (5) will most likely be at a juicy price but his recent efforts suggest he is racing in really strong form. He was less than a length behind Chalaza when the pair met recently. His previous run on the Polytrack was also strong, flashing home out deep. The James Peters-trained gelding looks like a decent each-way contender and a must for exotic bet types. MR CROWE (2) has won four races already this year and was expected to go close again last start. On that occasion he got into a bumping duel with the eventual winner and seemed to lack his potent finishing burst. Now under the care of Lee Freedman, Mr Crowe has gone back to the trials twice. His most recent trial was very quiet and he should benefit from the freshen-up.SUPERNOVA (1) has been in outstanding form, again running well to finish third on the Polytrack. He drops back from 1700m to 1400m on the Turf which may well prove a tough ask as he is giving weight to the field here as well. In his favour is his record with Vlad Duric which is too good to be ignored.

RACE 9
The penultimate event is a nice Class 4 on the Polytrack over 1100m. DEIMOS (2) has been working well for his return and drops dramatically in grade after previously contesting the Group 1 Singapore Guineas. He has trialled quietly since and should be in for a good campaign. The obvious negatives are a wide stall with a claiming rider but young Amirul Ismadi has had success for trainer Cliff Brown in the past and Deimos likes to race from behind. So, he will most likely be taken back from the wide alley. THE COSMOS (3)ran on fairly well last time off an extremely hot tempo. He had his chance on that occasion and couldn’t get there with the 57.5kg and he’ll carry an extra 1kg which won’t make things easy, but he holds solid form and is one of the leading chances in this. SOLDADO (6)goes well on the Polytrack and steadily improved last time after settling back. He is holding good form and from a much better barrier draw he is likely to get a better run in transit. MELTING POINT (7) is an interesting runner from Western Australia. He has had two wins, both over further and on soft tracks but he did trial nicely with the blinkers and will wear them for his Singapore debut.

RACE 10
The final race on the card does look to house a bit of a standout bet on the card. A number of horses in this are coming into this on the back of slightly below-par runs but certainly not GRAN TORINO (5). A winner on debut when beating the useful Dutrow (2nd since), he backed that up when running 2nd to a nice newcomer in the shape of Sun Dream, but he met with trouble at an early stage on that occasion and has won a trial (60.20) leading up to this. He is the one they all have to beat. The rest could well be playing for places in this concluding event and the best of them could be MONTAIGNE (2) from the in-form stable of Shane Baertschiger. He has been freshened up with two trials since his last race day run and is an on-pace runner who can go well here. SATELLITE MAN (3) will appreciate getting back on turf and will have the assistance of champion jockey Manoel Nunes in the saddle and can prove better than his recent form. He has had a couple of outings on the Polytrack. Making up the top four in the lucky last is WHOSE ELSE’S (1). He has conditions to suit and his big weight is offset with the 2kg claim.
