Alizee First For Sepoy

Monday, 18 September 2017: Classy filly Alizee became the long awaited first Australian stakes winner for her sire Sepoy when she added to her immense value with a win in the G2 Tea Rose Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

Sepoy, a former champion Australian two-year-old by Elusive Quality, has sired five stakes winners in Europe while his Australian-bred products have included the stakes-placed runners She’s Positive, Chipanda, War Hero and Garrard.
Alizee  (Sepoy x Essaouira by Exceed And Excel) broke through for her first stakes victory after placings in the G2 Silver Shadow Stakes and the G3 Magic Night Stakes.
From seven starts, Alizee has now won twice with two seconds and prize money of $235,800 with her value immeasurable due to her high class pedigree.

Alizee is a half-sister to four winners led by G1 Golden Rose Stakes winner and now first season stallion Astern (Medaglia d’Oro) produced by the Exceed And Excel mare Essaouira.
A juvenile metropolitan winner, Essaouira is also the dam of G3-placed Mogador (Lonhro) while Alizee’s second dam is G2 Magic Night Stakes winner Alizes (Rory’s Jester).
Her third dam is the G1 Galaxy winner La Baraka (Euclase) from the same family as champion filly Triscay (Marscay).
In Melbourne the Fastnet Rock filly Catchy beat the colts in the G2 Danehill Stakes to convince her connections to focus on a start in next month’s the $2 million Caulfield Guineas.
Catchy's next run is expected to be against her own sex in the G2 Thousand Guineas Prelude at Caulfield on 1 October, a race that will determine whether the Blue Diamond winner runs in the Caulfield Guineas on October 14 or stays with the fillies in the $500,000 Thousand Guineas on the same day.
"At the moment she's probably favoured to take on the boys in the Guineas. She'll run against the fillies next start and if she's as dominant again we'll take on the boys.
"The Guineas is worth four times as much as the Thousand Guineas and twice as much fun."
Catchy  (Fastnet Rock x Cats Whisker by Fusaichi Pegasus) has won five of her seven starts with one placing and has amassed $1.251 million prize money.
Bred by Joy Jenkins and raised at Coolmore Stud, Catchy is a sister to three winners and is the best foal to date out of the multiple G2 winner Cats Whisker (Fusaichi Pegasus).
Cats Whisker is a sister to the stakes placed Cat’s Pyjamas (Fusaichi Pegasus) out of the G3-placed Perfect Halo (Don’t Say Halo).
Catchy’s two-year-old sister by Fastnet Rock was purchased by Alan Bell for $700,000 at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.
Cats Whisker had a yearling colt by Fastnet Rock last spring and is due to foal to Pierro.
