Preditor To Hunt Down Rivals In Committee

Sunday, 17 September 2017: Preditor shapes up as a strong chance down in the weights when he lines up the Group 3 Committee's Prize over 1600m at Kranji on Sunday.

The Shane Baertschiger-trained runner comes off a solid win in a Benchmark 89 on the Polytrack last start having measured up pretty well in Group company his three starts prior.

Carrying just the 50kg today (like half of the field) Preditor has shown enough this campaign to suggest he is right up to winning a race like this.

Preditor  pushed forward from the inside draw two starts back in the Group 1 Singapore Derby and did a pretty good job to stick on for fifth on that occasion, two and a half lengths away from the winner of that race Infantry.

Preditor certainly appreciated the drop back to the mile last start and remaining over the 1600m he shapes up as a leading chance in the feature race of the day.

With Glen Boss on board, the now five-year-old should get a nice run up on the speed and with some handy form in group racing to this point rates the one to beat on weight adjusted ratings.

His figure in the Singapore Derby two starts back with the 57kg measures up well for this as does his effort in the Patron's Bowl and three lengths from Alibi.

Jupiter Gold  returns, having last been seen when producing an extremely disappointing effort in the Group 1 QEII Cup, not beating a runner home when favourite.

Certainly had excuses on that occasion, pulling up with an irregular heartbeat but form prior to that was very good, placing behind Countofmontecristo in the Classic over 1400m before running on well for second in the Singapore Guineas.

Tends to run well when fresh, winning two of his three outings and placing on the other occasion and won with ease when returning last campaign over 1400m albeit in easier company.

Has been given plenty of time since his last start disappointing and another with only 50kg he certainly has the ability to produce a very strong effort today.

Quechua  is one of the best gallopers in Singapore and despite the big weight of 59kg he could make full use of the inside draw today and run a big race after returning well when third to Forever Young in the Chariman's Trophy over 1800m.

Does drop back to the 1600m today where he has only one the single race but is a top performed Group 1 winner who can never be ruled out of contention in races like this.

Absolute Miracle  has been freshened since his last start effort when beaten three and a half lengths in the Group 2 Chairman's Trophy last start.

Has since won a trial over 1000m against many of these and recent form in very good company does measure up okay for this.

Would not be surprised to see him make his way into the finish with Twickenham , the winner of this race last year also worth including carrying some 9kg less then he did last start when beaten by Preditor.
